My most physically demanding hunt was a solo elk hunt in the Schell Wilderness, Nevada. Killed my bull at first light on a monday morning and got the last load to the tailgate wednesday evening ....... was 52 at the time. Wouldn't trade that experience for anything .....
Yep, one or the other. OP has gotten some good advise here, I will just add that when done spinning a brass / bronze brush in the chamber take a bore mop of appropriate size and wrap with 0000 steel wool and finish up the cleaning process ............
Yep, typically my binos don't come out until after my calling sequence is over ........ then i glass around for a minute looking for hung up coyotes way out there or possible slow pokes .......
You are correct in saying all barrels are different, IMO the only true way to determine when YOUR barrel is done speeding up is to shoot through a chronograph to determine when your load has leveled off.
That surprises me a bit, Smartcap was a fair bit more pricey than the Leer .......Must be regional thing ..... I really looked at one and sure is a nice unit ......
If this is your goal then you'll be more than fine with what you currently have. Personally , i would add a stud to your Mavens and put em on a tripod for a whole new level of glassing .....
Your making entirely too much money .......... When I bought my Leer they had one of those in the showroom, man that is a sweet setup for sure and looked to be very well built ......
Well, I think it all comes down to being versatile ..... I have a camper shell, 6.5 X 12 flat deck and a converted 8 X 16 enclosed V nose trailer that pretty much covers all the bases for me.
Like others have said, you need a small utility type trailer. In your situation it will really come in handy for your side gig and totally free up your pickup. I've had camper shells on every pickup iv'e ever owned and couldn't imagine not having one on my truck, security and weather protection...
