Processing my elk right now and this is the front shoulder. This would have been the last shot that ultimately dropped him. Around 486 yards the Impact velocity was around 2364 fps with 1340 ft lbs of energy (clearly not that energy matters).
I didn’t take a picture but the original shot...
Thanks man. Yeah it’s called a trigger cam. It records through the reticle. I like it but it’s a little finicky with the parallax on the Nightforce. I need to be better about getting it in focus before shooting.
Got the opportunity to take my son out on an antelope hunt yesterday. It just got done raining hard and we set out into the desert with some candy and no expectations.
We saw a ton of antelope and some decent bucks but nothing that really stood out. My boy took a nap while I decided to drive...
6 creed with a 108 ELDM going 3125fps. Shot this heard bull at 486 yards. First shot was into the upper rear portion of the front quarter. That shot destroyed the lungs and the bull ran about 50 yards before stopping.
Once he stopped I put two more into him fast. The 2nd shot was a little lower...
That was where I was at before I quit. A little over a year and a half and this has been the best hunting shape I've ever been in.
I’ve also been able to do a ton more productive activities with my kids. Nothing but positive things happened when I quit.
Just put airbags in my rear coil springs tonight. 2003 Jeep TJ with a 2 inch lift and 33’s. Mounted my rear rack into the rear tire holder too.
Last year I was rubbing fenders all the way down the mountain. Don’t think that’ll be a problem now. Theres almost 400 lbs loaded in the back of it in...
IMR 4350 was the most available powder to me when I started reloading in 2021. Bought a bunch second hand and in stores when it was there. This year is the first time I’ve ever loaded with H4350. The IMR worked great for me though.
Yeah I was trying to put a 300 win mag in the bravo to try and get some more weight onto it. I only asked about the KRG for stocks though. Never asked about other Chassis.
If I remember correctly, he said there was some extra grinding you had to do at the lug. He didn’t really go into many details, it was mainly advising me that the KRG wouldn’t work. He also said their Bravo lines were different actions.
I’ve done it and left the freezer in back of the truck. Just brought two extension cords and parked close to an outlet. Never asked the motel and just did it.
Just got a 20 inch barrel, 7.5 twist, from Preferred Barrel Blanks for my wife’s Sig cross. Dropped it off at the smith today and should have it back in a few weeks.
Ordered a bunch of 77 TMKs for it so hopefully they work with 4350 or 4831.
