I shoot a Weatherby Accuguard, and I like the rifle just fine, but my recommendation to you would be to think along the lines of something that is Remington patterned....not saying Remington, just patterned. So any of the custom actions, a Bergara etc. There is a lot of support for Tikka's too...
Just a thought, but one thing you might want to consider when looking at RF's....most current RF's from any manufacturer will range a long way...longer than most of us shoot at game. Certainly, some are better than others, but they all are pretty capable it seems these days. A larger...
Rim Runner, you want to set it to 1-1. That should get you what you are looking for, give that a whirl, but if you need more help, PM me and we can get on the phone and go through it.
Leica has ramped up their rangefinder iterations and released some significant improvements to their line. Yes, there is more distance, in the case of the CRF, lots more. But the changes are actually a lot more significant from what I am seeing because they include improvements to a lot of the...
New BDX Gear from Sig
Sig has made some additions and changes to their BDX line for 2020 that I thought I would pass on. They are committed to the system, as it plays to their strengths in integrating technology and optics and I think we’ll see more and more products with this capability as...
I have had both a 3xi and also have a vx6 with the two turn locks. On the 3i, we did have it turn several times through rough handling while hunting. We subsequently ordered the CDS dial, as it can get it in MOA with a zero stop.
If you get the free cds dial , it can come with a zero stop...
You are welcome! BTW, I raised the BC issue with Sig last week, supposed to have a call sometime soon to talk more about it. Not sure what they will say, but I'll let you know if they know something we don't. Hopefully, more reasonable heads will prevail!
Unfortunately, no, there is no zero stop on this scope. It was designed mainly for use with the holdover system, so they did not add cost by adding a zero stop on this scope. I would probably like to have it, as a backup to when I may not want or be able to use the BDX system, but I think...
Ha ha, just PM'd you while you were posting, sorry for the cross post! Well, if your buddy wants to get it sorted, you are welcome to send him my way and I'll do what I can.
Yeah, what I was told by the product manager was that if part of the beam is in, part is out, it's in spec. But if it's all out, it's out of spec and to send it in.
If I understand what you are seeing, yours is out of spec based on what the product manager told me.
I'll pm you, love to help...
Swampthing,
On the glass, I feel like they did pretty well considering what they were trying to achieve, which was a top drawer RF with decent glass at a price point that many could afford. There was a lot of compeititive jockeying going on in the background and so that informed a lot of where...
