88gr Hammer Hunter on a California Blacktail. Close shot at 80ish yards. 3310MV from a 6CM.
Quite a bit of bloodshot on entry, broke the opposite shoulder and turned the insides to jelly.
Garmin Fenix 6X, got it originally for the dog tracking features (works along side their GPS collars) but love it generally. Next one will be another Garmin.
Do the profiles in the Kestrel just push to the binos? So the binos are only providing ranging info for the solution?
Anyone know of a YouTube video that walks through any of this? I looked but couldn’t find much out there.
Appreciate the responses
That does sound a lot cleaner. The binos can only display elevation though? So you still need to read wind correction from the Kestrel or from the Leica app?
I recently picked up a pair of Leica Geovid Pro 10x42s and they can handle all the ballistics calcs I want with the embedded AB (I even paid for the onboard AB upgrade). Of course the only thing they don't handle is wind speed, which has me looking at a Kestrel.
My question for you all, is...
I had a 2021 GMC AT4 with the 3.0 diesel, really liked the truck. Averaged 23 MPG over 45k miles. Of course once it was out of warranty it started eating batteries and had to be towed 4 times out of my driveway in 3 months. Think I / dealer put 3 brand new batteries in it during that same time...
Thanks for sharing. Just did a bunch of research on a lot of these to make a decision and this video would have helped quite a bit. Ended up with the Geovid Pros. Seemed like the best bang for the buck and their warranty makes me feel better dropping almost $3k on electronics.
Have you called / emailed them? I’ve heard good things on their responsiveness (my rifle is on its way back from them now for an accessory install). Haven’t tested the tech line myself though.
We don’t want to see a dog “running” head down in the field, the pheasant track is meant as a change of focus and is a separate event. Only done on pups 16months or under.
There’s a duck drag for the UPT and UT tests, really just an exercise in obedience and cooperation.
