Be ready for a little sticker shock when you buy your grass seed. I had to reseed an area of my yard (~1 acre) last fall with turf fescue, and the seed rate was 5#/1000 sq ft, which works out to 4.3 bags per acre, and the bags I bought were around $200 each.

I was thinking if I cut the BRS like my pic shows, I'd end up with a longer surface area than the way you modified yours, since the distal portion of the arm would still be there.

Interested in seeing what you come up with! I assume you are just going to cut the arms where the narrow vertical part rises up to the "feet"? Should be able to grind a big enough flat spot to still have some stability?
