I usually take a moment when I find the animal and say a quick prayer of thanks. Nothing big or grand, or showy. I think of it more of an acknowledgment of what just took place and an acknowledgment of the big guy upstairs.
I'm grateful you resurrected this thread. Within the last week and a half or so I realized my 5 y/o daughter is showing herself to be mature enough to learn to shoot and perhaps be ready to start tagging along on a few hunts next year. This is a great thread as I've been thinking a lot recently...
