Not sure if this adds much to the thread, but here's a recap of my experience (so far) with aging:
12/6/20 - shot whitetail doe/brought home for self-processing/two rear legs removed in the field, front half--spine, loins, front legs, neck, and head--all remain intact and brought home in one...
I've got a Vertx EDC Gamut that I've used the last 3+ years and freaking love it. Same general type of use as you describe--industrial setting.
I believe they have a new generation out, but if/when mine wears out I'll definitely be buying another. Great features, well built...
Fellow Iowan here-where are you guys located?? We may have to schedule a meet up someday?? Thanks for starting this thread @Paxton2208, good stuff, wishing you the best of luck wherever you land.
Energetic Armament's "Lux" can may also warrant a look. All Titanium, 7.9in, 9.84oz. One of the best things about EA's cans is they don't force you into any proprietary mounts or thread patterns. So if you like or are already invested in Dead Air's KeyMo system, or the Area 419 mounts...
Well, this thread got me. I've got a rear quarter from a whitetail doe I shot hanging in the garage as we speak. Shot Dec. 6th (two-ish weeks and counting). The hide is still on.
I'll probably pull it down and cut it up on New Year's Day or shortly thereafter. I processed and froze the other...
It's not any one post or member that bothers me, and it's certainly not the idea of saving a buck or two that turns me off. Personally, it's the way that Active Junky incentivizes its members to recruit others with things like referral bonuses and whatnot. This leads to A) a lot of noise about...
Especially when people slip referral and affiliate tracking URLs into their “deals.“
Have you guys heard about Active Junky?!? Check out this innocent looking, but strangely long link I've provided for everyone...
Fellow Iowan here, well-done OP!
And I totally agree about ground hunting whitetails. 4 of the 5 times I've been out this year have been on the ground in a public area. It's hard to articulate, but it is very different than the tree stand hunting I'm used to -- way more intense knowing the...
I've got the ones in your first post, OP. Had them for at least 2 years. I actually like them a lot, but as has been mentioned, you're not going to get your trigger finger into a trigger-well with them. They're actually a two-piece thing, with a 5 finger glove liner thing that fits inside the...
That's odd, I've got the Hood I'm 5'9" and 170-ish, and the sizing feels appropriate to me - not too big, not too small. The hood is small, by design I'm pretty sure, but not as small as you describe. Wondering if you got a bad piece?
Someone earlier in this thread was asking about the Olive color that Swazi uses and whether it seems darker than other company's versions. Got my Hood and Micropants delivered yesterday -- Hood is Tussock and the pants are Olive.
I'd say the Olive is definitely on the darker side of what most...
