    scope slipping

I had scope slipping issues. Not an expert. I switched to NF Ultralight 6 screw rings and problem solved. I'm guessing the 4 screw would have worked, but I didn't want to deal with it anymore. The added ring weight was a nonissue to me for a backpacking rifle.

Smoker/Pellet grill advice, recommendations for setup capable of low temps.

Bradley Smokers might work for you. I haven't tried them, but friends like them. I used a Little Chief starting out with great success but that was long ago. I use a pellet grill now. It doesn't get down to the temps you're looking for but it works well.

Family trip to the Oregon coast, Suggestions?

You can cast for crab in netarts towards the bar. Kids love that. Chicken works well as bait. Why not south? There are many great options up and down the coast, but you can spend a lot of time in your car getting to them. I think you just need to maximize your fun in the area you are in...

Family trip to the Oregon coast, Suggestions?

Razor's are really dependent on minus tides, otherwise it's tough. There is reputed to be a beach out of Tillamook with razor's but not as prolific further north towards Clatsop. I think Nehalem, Tillamook, and Neatarts have other clams to dig. They may be less dependent on the large minus...

    Outdoors Adventure in Poland?

I'm late on this one, but the Tatras and Zakpone are great as is the Wieliczka Salt mines. There is/was a quaint lodge at Morskie Oko that I stayed in. They also have a great hiking in the Tatras. The trail system has a series of huts/hostels that you can stay in along the way and get a warm...

    Necessity of Sleeping Pads

    Y. You can get lightweight ones for backpacking and heavier ones for car camping. They not only cushion your body, they add warmth. You can buy one from REI and take it with you. You can try sleeping without it and see how that goes. If you're fine and don't feel like you need it, you have...

As mentioned, rent a boat, or throw crab rings from the dock at Kelly's. Tillamook Creamery Garibaldi Charters for bottom fishing. They also throw out crab pots that you pick up on the way back. They typically have good availability. Tunnel Beach at Ocenaside - nice beach Bayocean Pennisula...

What's the most fun a guy can have with $20,000

That's what my wife asks me about hunting. Some are but I wouldn't call it fun, rather it was a challenging and satisfying hunt. PM me and I can provide details. It might fit your budget.

What's the most fun a guy can have with $20,000

You could probably do an asian Ibex hunt with that budget. I think that would be more rifle. I've killed plenty as well in the PNW, but NM and AZ for me is next level. No worries though.

What's the most fun a guy can have with $20,000

No. I've done SE Ak. The BC hunts are typically cheaper and within that budget for hunt+travel+tip. You could also stretch your budget a little bit for an elk NM landowner tag + guide. You could probably do an Asian Ibex hunt with that budget. Alberta mule deer would fit as well.

Mongolia - flight routes, airlines, firearm considerations

Turkish is great. If you go Turkish, I wouldn't pay the sporting equipment fee ahead of time. They sometimes won't charge you state side. They will usually charge you on the return. They'll just do it at check in if they're going to do it. You do need to register your gun ahead of time with...

    Trekking poles with extra functionality

BD carbon trekking poles whippet ready. On sale. These worked well on a recent alpine hunting trip with a whippet (ice axe) head. I didn't have to bring an ice axe. Not a full ice axe replacement, but more like 75% functionality.

    Kitchen renovation appliances

Let me jump in. We were able to buy our appliances through a separate company that did the install. They also warranty the work and provide flawless service the only time we needed it and it was so minor. I would try that route if you can. I'll echo others that Thermador has a great...

    Kitchen renovation appliances

Copy. I don't think I understood. Subzero has no ice dispenser option as well. It has an ice maker, but it's a drawer. I think Miele's is the same/similar. FYI. I'm not a contractor. My experience is as a homeowner so my sample size is smaller. Good luck!

    Kitchen renovation appliances

I second Subzero/Wolf if you can. It can come with no water dispenser but includes ice. Why no ice? Miele might be one to look at.
