    Looks good. How long is the drive to your parents? If it's a short drive, you can load the meat in the cooler as is if at 35 degrees. You can even prechill the cooler by leaving it in the walkin. Packed, it will keep cold and you can avoid the moisture exposure.

    We do something similar. We dredge the strips in flour and quickly fry with light oil in a hot cast iron. We typically just do salt and pepper. Sometimes Montreal steak seasoning.

    There are many great choices. I've used a Kuiu 1850 with carbon frame for years. It's been great and have felt no need to change. It's nice to be able to take a load of meat out.

    I recommend asking Ed if you can get in touch with your guide to meet them ahead of time. Then you can ask them for their opinion when you get in touch. I like wearing OR croc gaiters, and I find them to be pretty much bullet proof with crampons.
