I'm looking for a lighter rifle in general because I'm tired of lugging my bull barrel 308 around. Its fine for Nebraska whitetails, muleys, and coyote control, but I want to go west next year and don't want to carry it long distances. Christiansen Mesa, Savage Ultralight, Bergara Premier...
Strips definitely. I'm still messing with the sticks to get them a better texture and still work through the stuffer. Ive never been a big fan of casing on sticks, so I went ths route after using a gun for a while
I run the strips out of the stuffer, transfer to grates and into the smoker or...
I use a Dakotah brad water stuffer for ground jerky and sticks without a casing, and for stuffing sausages and other grounds into individual packages in case I don't want to grind them again (breakfast and Italian sausage for example). Not super fast, but sure easy to use and control.
I have full coverage on mine, its pretty cheap, $75-100 per year (cant recall as it renews in January). Just liability was over half that so I figured if I wreck it, or it falls off the trailer I'm covered.
ETA - its a plain Honda Rancher, larger ATVs may be more.
My grandmother would make it and slice it thin for sandwiches, called it baloney until we were old enough to know better. Still good though. I want to say she boiled it in saltwater, but not sure, and "skinned" it first. In the winter she'd warm it up on the griddle first, much like fried...
Did the same with a Remington 870 during a Hunt Test for HRC. Site worke r(me) left the shotgun leaning on the front of the Range SxS and went to rebird the wingers (think duck slingshots). Loaded the five buckets of ducks, and drove off. came back to Site Manager (my dad) holding a now bent...
Agreed. And don't miss a pill, if you're on one, during the trip.
I'm pretty good with just the Singulair pill and an allergy med, but keep the inhaler close. Working out has helped (thanks Covid). I've got inhalers stashed around the house, car, tractor, lawn mower, training pack (2). I've...
EIB sufferer here. I second the Singulair prescription, worked wonders for me and help immensely during allergy season. I'd still carry an inhaler or two (or three). I don't get much elevation training here in SE Nebraska, but do what i can with hills, sprints, and hiking with loads to...
Rented a minivan (Chrysler T/C AWD to be exact) to go deer hunting when my wife had the truck that day moving horses or something. Reservation was for a truck, but they were "sold out" when i got there and she had dropped me off, so i was sorta stranded. I said gimme whatever that's all wheel...
i use cheap corn or wood pellets for 40 lbs and above to get some volume with the weight and spread it out. Hauled between the bag and frame on the shelf of the MR.
In my smaller pack - 30ish lbs - ive got boxes of shotgun shells in there right now until i can figure out some smaller 5lb...
Found one on our private/owned 160 acres a few years ago overlooking a new food plot we put in. Jackwagon had to cross two fences to get there as the gates are generally locked, it was almost as far from the road as you could get. I cut the cable and took it to the County Sheriff and left a...
Tuff Shed. Had one in town, was $$ but nice to have up and done in a day. Like you, I have no time to build. They’re fairly tight, but may not keep rodents out forever.
No pic on my PC or phone, but shot a 4.5 year old in 2018 that was in full velvet during November firearm season in Nebraska. Still intact testicles too (first thing I checked and G&P asked about at the check station), just an odd dude, no clue why he was like that. Came out chasing a doe full...
Board/card games (our family is brutal and unforgiving at Uno), several walks with the dogs daily around our 10 acres, and lots of new recipes begin tried in the kitchen - most recent was my wife made homemade stroopwaffles late last week, all gone already - hence the several walks daily.
Agricultural finance, started working from home in early-mid March when the kiddo was on spring break, four weeks in now. I was working form home a day or two a week before, but really just using my laptop those days. Increase in volume but i expect it to slow some if commodity markets stay...
Not even close to some stories posted in the thread, but..
Hunting with my wife a few years ago. Private 160 acre pasture in SE Nebraska. We're walking out mid morning after downing a couple does, around 930 AM. Cold, cloudy, but low wind day. Ahead of us on a dead tree was the largest...
