Nightforce SHV 4-14 F1 FFP but has nice illumination in the center. Comes in MOA. Exposed elevation, capped windage, but hashes for holding wind like you want. Durable. Not made in China.
It's $1290 at Cabelas. But if you buy it on their 10% off day, get cash back through activejunky, and pay...
^^ I'm not Brewski, but I used the Xmid Pro 2 for scouting and alpine hunts last year, and was very pleased with it. At a very slight weight penalty and footprint size penalty, imo the Pro 2 makes way more sense than the Pro 1 for a hunter.
It has every advantage that you'd expect from the...
There are a few other threads asking the same thing. Here's one from last month: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/ultralight-compact-30-cal-hunting-suppressor.334574/

Yeah that's really thin, looks like the adapter/brake is best for this. Short of a smith adding the Sig/Q taper to the barrel (which is my personal preference).
Just thread the Hyperion K onto the 5/8x24 that you're already using for the Nomad TI, and then you can treat it like any other direct thread without a weight or length penalty. You don't absolutely have to use the CGS adapter with the taper (the threads themselves aren't tapered). Once you do...
I've posted two of them in this thread. Most recent: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/6-5-creedmoor-260-for-deer-elk-and-whatever-else.244973/page-25#post-3205990
.223, most recently shooting 77gr TMK under CFE 223. Scope has either been a Nightforce SHV 4-14 or NX8 1-8 depending on what I've been after. With the NX8 (and a new carbon fiber handguard), I'm at 8.5 pounds empty with suppressor.
Of course, that's why there are hundreds of pics in the referenced threads showing performance from different angles and shot placements-- to not overgeneralize.
I really like the 25 degree Sig/Q taper on the Hyperion K. You get all the benefits of direct thread (improved accuracy/repeatability) but the benefits usually reserved for QD (hand tighten/remove, yet not needing a tool to keep it from backing off during use).
I use it on my 6.5 Tikka (smithed...
Can anyone recommend a shoe polish for these? Only downside to these boots for me have been the quick color wear around the edges and the top of the foot.
Good point. It would be interesting to see if anyone has experiences with inconsistent shift.
I move my Hyperion K around between two rifles all the time, with both left zeroed for suppressed shooting. Removing it and putting it back on the same gun later has never resulted in any change of...
