I just bought a chamber sealer. I can’t believe how much better and faster it works. I waited about 10 years too long. Every big game hunter needs one.
Ok. So I bought a chamber sealer, vac master vp215, and tried sealing a burger bag. I needed to dial down the seal time but it worked fantastic. Burger bags are much thinner than my vac bags. I’ll do about 100 lbs of burger with hog rings, I should be able to go through that in a year, then the...
I was successful on my once and a lifetime bison hunt and now need to process an extraordinary amount of meat. I have typically vacuum sealed my grind, with great results, but am looking to speed up the process using burger bags. I want to keep the grind a maximum of 2 years without any hint...
The Bison hunt starts Sept 14, in the middle of my archery elk season. I will likely be leaving directly from my elk hunt to my bison hunt. I assume I will be spent after hunting elk so I have decided a full service plush hunt to "recover" since it is probably what I will want at that time...
Somehow, I was lucky enough to get drawn for a once in a lifetime bison hunt in Eastern UT. Bull or cow, any legal weapon. I am a DIY solo archery hunter that takes great personal pride in the process; hiking in, finding the animals, making the shot, and of course the heavy packout if lucky...
I doubt I was clear. I spent opening morning driving home to pick up the cartridges, then I drove back to the hunt spot. 5 hour round trip during opening morning
Spend enough time and effort in the field, even the worst get lucky. This LONG story starts out with me realizing I forgot my cartridges the night before antelope opener on a DIY public land buck antelope hunt in eastern Colorado. Having had a few beers, I could not drive the 2.5 hours home to...
I would go with a medium. I am a 34-36 and the medium is perfect, with room to go both ways. I tend to lose weight throughout a hunt, or the hunt season, and become more like a 34-33. But talk to Kifaru to get their thoughts. If you are not pressed for time, I am sure they would swap it for a...
Nothing to do but be aggressive. But then again you are talking to a guy who is currently staring at a tag next to the computer, who had a early morning 42 yard shot on a 4 point rag, who decided to let down because he thought he could do better. I am not sure you want my opinion.
The only reason I can think of that privilaged people stealth camp is money. Or clicks. I cant inagine people bragging that they slept in a median or round about.
The reason I do it is because I want to be close to the fishing or hunting and I do not want other people to find my honey hole...
This is exactly what I was thinking. I bought a .270 WSM, Winchester Model 70, and cases used to get stuck. I sent it back and Winchester said it was headspace issues. They gave me a new rifle.
Good luck on Idaho sheep. Best non-resident odds around. A bit expensive and forfiet all other elk, deer, antelope draws, but I think it is worth it. I applied for Idaho RM sheep as well.
Be careful. Some states will purge your points. It is important to stay on top of it regardless.
Maybe I shouldnt have said anything. One more tag for me :)
