Seems like the 6GT fits a very niche role between the 6arc and 6creed. Not sure how much market there will be for that, and most precision shooters are reloading anyway.
I have been playing around with this idea, maybe I’ll eventually build it out:
Tikka Superlight .243 or 6.5cm ~6# 3oz 800$
UM action milling and bolt fluting (-4oz) $250
Mtn gear bolt handle (-1oz) $100
Lumley bolt shroud (-.5oz) $35
Titanium action screws (-.3oz) $10
Cut barrel to 16” (-7 oz)...
6.5 cm
6.5cm. Precision hunter or hornady match ELDM. Most people here will tell you to get a tikka t3x and have it threaded. At least thats what I’m in the process of doing, haha.
I bought mine around new years last year for 95$ for the year, seems like they run lots of sales. I don’t use it much, but that’s more of a personal discipline thing than it is a nock on their product!
Any tips you have for using this thing? I have one but find the FOV extremely limited, granted I have mostly only used it at the range at shortish distances. Also, the arca plate being on the top (as pictured) bothers me so much
I have the Sportsmatch rings on a huron 3-9 and didn’t have any issues at 225. I haven’t tried to shoot any past that so I may have been right on the edge of my scope adjustment. This is with automatch and federal gold medal- so not sure about the drop on subs.
Here's a cheaper alternative. Although I love my yeti box and it's definetly the better of the two, the costco box is hard to beat at 1/5 the price.
