    Kids pack options

My son uses the dueter fox. I picked it up on eBay for pretty cheap. He’s also very slim and it works for him.

    DIY Colorado elk

Definitely - stick to the areas you know! Once you learn an area you don't have to waste a bunch of time "e-scouting" and your so much more efficient when you get there. I personally really enjoy 2nd season, I would think just bouncing between 1st and 2nd rifle when you draw/don't draw is a...

Question for you Electricians: What Electrical Connector and Components Do You Recommend?

Not the same but similar problems - When we do repairs on direct burial underground wire we: 1. Crimp 2. Tape with 3M black “33” 3. Heat shrink 4. Coat with a product called scotchkote. Don’t get it on anything you care about. It doesn’t come off. You will probably get better products from an...

Anyone else that can’t road run?

For myself rucking just seems to work. Everyone is different and running doesn't sound like its working out for the OP.

anyone pay attention to their resting heart rate?

Definitely can be good or bad depending on the person! I also read an article that classified a resting heart rate under 50 as an elite athlete. :ROFLMAO: I think people are naturally more inclined to either strength or endurance. Endurance has always come naturally for myself and even if I...

anyone pay attention to their resting heart rate?

I don't have a monitor so I can't tell you my average, but I've put my wife's fitbit on a few times in the evenings. I'm usually 46-48 range. I also do a lot of zone 2 work. I'd say your heart is working pretty efficiently!

Anyone else that can’t road run?

Don't tear up your joints for something that you probably don't even enjoy! Like a few guys mentioned, you'll get more aerobic benefit from rucking 10-30% of your bodyweight and its so much more pleasant than sucking air while you run. Your workouts should improve your quality of life, not...

Tell me about tire chains-4th gen 4runner

If you’re going to buy chains you might as well get 4. My stock f-150 also lacks front clearance but I’m able to make peweg chains work up there. Like @Geewhiz said, only use them to get out. Once you’re out just get those front chains off before you tear anything up. Peweg chains have...

How many big game tags is too many?

I’ve found that any more than 1-2 tags that involve a trip is all I want. Any more than that actually ends up being stressful at this point in my life. Also have 4 kids 11 and under right now so I suppose that could change in 10 or 15 years. Local hunting is different. I like having couple...

Coffee, 3 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, some sort of meat(ham, sausage, bacon, etc) and a whey protein shake.

    Let's talk money. Budgets. Life.

Lot's of good advice on here. Dave Ramsey isn't for everyone but his advice is solid. Before we had our kids my wife and I paid off our house and have stayed out of debt since. She is a CPA but gets to choose to stay home and raise our 4 kids because we don't carry any debt...

    Easy elk hunt

It's not elk but there are some nice mule deer shot on private ranches in the Nebraska sandhills every year. I'm sure they could accommodate your dad. The sandhills aren't the mountains but they are really unique and beautiful. Also, some of those ranches have really nice accommodations. I...

    Help with Electrician Apprentice tools

Thats a good point, I’ve never worn a tool belt but I also have only done industrial work. Everyone needs the basics though (screwdrivers, nut driver, strippers, crimper, channel locks).

    Help with Electrician Apprentice tools

I’ve been an electrician for 23 years, I’ll add another vote for Klein hand tools, knipex channel locks, fluke meter, and Milwaukee cordless tools. If you buy him cheap tools he’s just going to spend money on good tools once he uses his coworkers. Tell him to pay attention in electrical theory...

    15 degree sleeping bag enough?

I also hunt 2nd season and just use a 20 degree bag with a 33 degree comfort rating. I just sleep with my puffy pants and jacket on to compensate for the lighter bag. I’ve also used the reactor liner and that seems to help too. I’ve been comfortable in single digits this way. The tent makes...

    Done with BaseMap.

I tried Gaia this year, it’s okay but I prefer onX. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive for all 50 states. If you hunt boundaries a lot I’d go with onX.

    Sold Swarovski ELs $1809

I’ll give you another bump. Great binoculars, great price. I’d jump on them if I didn’t already own a pair.

Do I need a woodstove for Co 2nd Rifle?

It’s pretty weather dependent but I always take mine regardless of the forecast.

    Low recoil for bigger game

Can you just install a muzzle brake on that rifle? My braked 300WM is far more pleasant to shoot than my non-braked 308.
