    Lack of love for waterfowlers

It's a disgrace what has happened up there. How it's been allowed to get this bad is a joke. Nothing but money is going to change it and most of us are done donating to see no improvement up there or places like Sutter.

It’s cooling off in the mtns!

I'm envious... my place is just North of Craig. I'd much rather be there than here in this 103 degree heat. I coach football and at last weeks game it was over 120 on the turf. Tomorrow looks to be the same at kickoff. I can't wait until the late October games.

    Lack of love for waterfowlers

Agreed, the water is going to have to come from somewhere or there will be massive die offs. Sucks to see all the "rice country" fallowed and disked like it is. I'm not a rice guy but I understand it's value to the migration and the opportunity for guys to lease fields. Let alone the fiscal...

    Lack of love for waterfowlers

Yeah those are my "go to" straps. They're well made and make great gifts as well. I'm a member, as well as my sons, and I donate every year but that's about it. I don't have much free time between work, side business and coaching. This year is going to be a challenge based on our current...

    Lack of love for waterfowlers

I'm in the Lodi area. I have a couple private areas in the Delta region and still hunt refuges and public waterways. Decoys vary depending on where I am and what I'm targeting but I primarily use Avians or GHG. I've got a ton of PlatiDuck and G&H Pins that I'll never part with. As far as...

    Wrangler BOGO 50% Off

They used to have the nylon version for the same price. They were a steal at $20.

    Wrangler BOGO 50% Off

Damn, $50 a pair now. Good thing I stocked up when I did. For that price you could get the Eddie Bauer's.

    No longer hunting?

I know some guys who hung up out of state hunting as well as ducks. They all complained about lack of access to tags / areas to hunt and the increasing costs of tags and leases (Ducks). I can't say I blame them but I'll not be retiring my guns anytime soon.

    Shoot in bed?

My arrows are 178grain ELDX so, yes, right through the neck. Not being a bow hunter I'd pass with a bow. I'd wait him out right there and hope he stood giving me enough time to send one.

How are people affording these crazy home prices?

We're in a position to buy a rental but we're waiting. I'm not paying the current prices and interest rates. I've got time, no need to over pay.

Wrong tires end my hunt early

Truth. The roads around my place in CO eat tires like a fat kid at a buffet.

Hunting partners…Finding new ones, losing old ones.

I lost my Dad and Grandfather unexpectedly 2 years ago. Those were my Big Game hunting partners. Even though I was usually off doing my own thing we always ended up around the table together at the end of the day. I only hunt with 2 other guys, 1 is family the other might as well be. I met him...

Colorado actually going to change things?

I have pictures of a Bull moose in the wide open sage flats just outside of Craig that I took last year the last week of September. I damn near crashed by truck when my son pointed it out. In all my years its the first and only one I've personally seen in the sage. Pretty cool.

Sling mounted bipod suggestions for open plains mule deer hunt

I've used one for my son and I the last 2 seasons. We've killed a few animals with it and I've been glad I had it when it was needed. The only issue I've had with using a harris and sling was the sling attachment point would come loose on mine and I damn near dropped my rifle one day. Other...
