I was in Africa last month. I harvested a Wildebeest and 6 other plains game animals with a 308. All one shot kills. I was shooting the 130 grain Barnes TTSX bullet.
I also took my 300 Win Mag shooting 180 grain TTSX bullets and used it to harvest an Eland.
By the way, both rifles...

I didn’t take rain gear as I was told it never rains in South Africa at this time of year. Sure enough I hunted in a cold rain one day.
I took 60 rounds of ammo for both of my rifles and that was way too much. I fired less than 20 rounds total.
Scheels is really legit. I purchased a Tikka 223 at the one in Colorado Springs a couple days ago. First time I’ve seen a Tikka 223 on a store shelf.

I spent the entire month of July traveling in Alaska.

The Kenai peninsula is amazing. That’s where I would spend my time if I was only there for 2 days.
