    caliber suggestions

I have few flavors, 7mm mag, .300 RUM and .270. I end up hunting 90% with my .270. With todays great bullet selections, and it versatility as flat shooter, its hard to beat for my needs.

Success! Montana unit 102-50 Eureka moose tag drawn!

Man that is tough. I grew up NW Montana, and in the 90's I would see a lot of good bulls and the occasional "booner bull" in that unit. When I drew that unit in 2011 I had high hopes as well. I hunted more than days (45 with pre scouting) and covered more miles than any other hunt I have done to...

Hunters in Grizzly-Free Country - Sidearm for Archery / Scouting?

I have few of those along the same lines. Had a group of hunters that set up tents right at a gate with major access to a drainage and tried to "claim" it all for themselves that I scouted all summer. Permanently Closed Access Gates Question

^^^^ Above post hit it. Weyerhaeuser and now Southern Pine Plantations own alot of good areas for hunting. Being a private owed company, gates can close or open at anytime, logging, etc. My only pro tip is mountain bikes, gated roads and clear cuts are a good thing. Big boars and south facing...

    Suggestions for bino/rangefinder harness

Had the alaska guide, was to bulky for my setup, went this year with FHF. Really like the FHF minimalist approach. I have my 10x42 SLC and they fit like a glove. I also added a Razco kydex holster that is designed to work perfectly with FHF when I want to carry my .40 S&W. With the FHF you can...
