    Cutting tikka prefits

@wind gypsy and anyone else interested. I got my barrel back from Fisher t&c, machine work looks excellent, headspace is fine and brass is growing what I’d expect. He was easy to work with and got back to me timely with any questions. I’ll be sending him another blank here soon for the...

Rant - What happened to respect for other hunters???

Good hunters know how to use hunting pressure to their advantage.

Suppressor Rods and Barrel Alignment WTF?

I have never checked alignment other than looking down the bore. lots of rounds without an issue.

    Mule Deer over Money

That’s an interesting view. Lots of guys would probably criticize you for shooting a 160” mulie, saying that would actually be a real trophy next year. Like me saying I’ll pass a 140” whitetail when plenty of people would be tickled pink to shoot something like that…. But I don’t do that...

    Mule Deer over Money

Those contemplating herd stability when it comes to bucks aught to take a listen to a few of the podcasts that Robby has done with biologists from various states. Heck if your interested in mule deer health in general it’s a good listen.

How many of you keep a gun you will never use in the woods?

I have a hard time hanging onto firearms that don’t serve a purpose for me. Lots of guys have safes full of rifles that they don’t even know if they are sighted in. I’d rather use that money for components, barrels, match fees, hunts or travel. But then my disposable income isn’t like some...

    Mule Deer over Money

I can understand that. I guess I see it as part of being a human. Like raising livestock, farming, or growing a garden.

    Mule Deer over Money

I have no issue trying to shoot big deer, I enjoy it too. I’ll be the first to say that I probably don’t fully agree with a lot of the hands that be, and how things happen, but I also understand that we can’t all fight each other, because of that we are losing. That’s just the icing on the...

    Mule Deer over Money

This thread is a great example of money over wild game. Nobody used to give a rip about a picture or mount. Now we care more about that than the meat.

Rant - What happened to respect for other hunters???

He walked up and talked to you. He gave you the opportunity to voice your concerns, come up with a plan that benefited both of you, maybe even do something that could have benefitted you. That’s a lot more courtesy than I have gotten when hunting. I wouldn’t be pissed. Hopefully he sees...

TBAC Magnus full size vs "S"

What you’re trying to suppress makes a difference too. Big difference when it comes to powder burned and barrel lengths. In general the shorter the barrel the bigger the can for me. I have a full size Magnus, and a couple ultra 7s. What I choose is highly dependent on the above

How does shooting a 2 yo buck compared to a 4yo buck make for a more sustainable herd?

    Mule Deer over Money

It’s a sliding scale for me depending on what my freezer looks like. I’m out there to make meat first. If I just want to have a good time I’ll go hunt predators and actually do something that will help the herd, instead of believing that not shooting a male deer of a certain antler structure...

How are you training for long range?

Add wind. A 6mph rifle at 750 yards…. 1mph of wind is changing poi more than .1mil. It takes no time for your cone of fire to get quite a bit bigger. IMO once you hit the point where your mph makes 1mph make .1 mils things become a lot more difficult

    RRS TFCX-13 vs Ascend-14

Iv used the 24L for everything. Including carrying it on a pack. I’m not a weight weenie when it comes to equipment for making a shot. I havnt messed with taking legs off. The tripod is around 26” broken down so it’s not small at all. I think a 33/34 and a 14L would be an ideal setup...

    Ammo for "practice"?

I havnt used the psa stuff. The adi is worth it for brass alone if your a reloader. 4 factory tikka tubes have shot the 55bk better than any factory ammo I have seen except the 73eldm.
