I always have my Glock 20 on me back country. Keep it in a razco Bino harness holster. Although I have not needed it for bears, I killed 7 I’ll tempered rattlesnakes with it on my antelope hunt a few weeks ago…
Reweighed my arrows and shot through a chronograph this evening to double check nothing off after returning from antelope hunt. My arrow setup this year is 4mm FMJ weighing 453grain with 13% foc, 297fps, and with iron will single bevel to top it off. Calculator online shows 88.71ft/lbs of...
I believe people go to AK over Canada because there is like a 10-15k difference on price. Even though sheep is a rich man's game for non-residents, people still try to penny pinch.
I honestly don't know. The abandoned roads were all shown as legitimate roads on onx, gohunt, and google maps. I am not sure how much reception one would get calling the county asking "what county roads have been abandoned by the county in the past few years?"
The ridiculous part, in my book...
I have not been on a sheep hunt, but know a few who have and ended up eating tag soup. Probably happens a lot, but people don't want to go around telling people they spent over $25k only to be put through physical torture and end up empty handed...
I’ve killed two goats using them. Tons of fun encounters using it as well. If you know area they are bedding at, it’s a great tool to use to get right on top of them when sun is creeping up. Definitely worth investment in my book. My only complaint is it’s a dang pain to fold back up…
It was the hardest pronghorn hunt I’ve done. A lot of the county roads I was planning on using for access were abandoned by the county, resulting in me not being able to get to about half of locations I was hoping. Compounding the issue further, the goat numbers seemed low and the bucks were...
Pictures didn’t do him justice. He’s 16 7/8 on one side and 16 3/8 on other green.
For scale, here he is next to my P&Y from two years ago that is in books at 78 5/8.
Got an absolute toad of a New Mexico public land pronghorn yesterday. Seems like antelope numbers are down this year in New Mexico. Is anyone else seeing the same?
I have a 4th rifle elk tag in Colorado. Had the same tag last year. I am not sure what is going to be more painful, chasing goats in triple digit heat or being a popsicle at 10k+ elevation in November...
Man, I really think you need to increase the weight to 80lbs worth of rocks and not forget to hike in a minimum of 15 miles before you start bugling...
