I have an ATX 970 i bought in 1999. It’s range is unlimited.
Highly recommend a Mt Bike over an E bike. E bikes are for Chicago commuting or gravel bike trails.
I hunt in my home state. Deer tag is $20.
You said between yourself and your wife you’re paying $2600 to hunt. I’d refuse to pay fees that high to hunt. But like i said, to each their own.
I was looking at these posts as more of the average “what i spend a year” not factoring in the year you bought a new rifle for your kid. I haven’t bought a new weapon (my bow) since 2009. So obviously that year i spent more than $200.
In that light, i cannot believe guys are spending 10-20%...
$200-300 a year on average on this and that so neglible. Really see no need to throw more money than that at it.
Really surprised to see some of you are throwing 10% or more of your income at hunting, wow!
If those corporate types you hate so much don’t keep the company profitable the unskilled laborers are out of a job, that’s a fact.
Blame your liberal friends for destroying the economy in the name of “livable wages for all” and hiking fuel prices to “slow global warming” not corporate guys...
To drive a truck, load a truck with boxes, and walk a package to my door? Absolutely replaceable.
People need to stop thinking unskilled laborers need to be making $30/hr to “keep up”. If you want to earn a higher wage get yourself some skills worth being paid higher wages.
Fyi, the cost...
Shipping and all things really are already way way way too expensive so screw em. Hope the employees walk and it cripples the economy even more so people will FINALLY stopping blowing through money like it’s their last week on Earth and they know it so the inflation will finally slow.
Of...
Amsteel rope mod. Not daisy chains as i found those can be a pain sometimes compared to just cinching the amsteel under itself and the button then wrapping it a few times. They don’t budge at all with the Amsteel/Rope mod.
I think it went off the rails when manufacturers started giving free bows, broadheads, releases, any gear really to Youtubers to “test”. This in turn is driving the “i need the latest greatest bow every year” mindset because people watch these Youtubers touting how much better the newest gear...
I’d leave a dog i wasn’t hunting with at home. My Brittany comes with when i’m after pheasants but if i’m after anything else she is home with the wife or boarded.
My suggestion would be ignore everything you mentioned in your comment, i.e podcasts, websites, MOST DEFINITELY ignore Youtube and don’t ask for any advice on brands.
Then, go to your local archery shop and shoot a bunch of bows then buy what suits you best. Practice with it, then get out...
Nah man, it’s a D bag move. Just cause it’s 2023 and a ton of people only care about themselves and couldn’t care less about being a D bag to someone else doesn’t mean yah just give in and partake. No need to act like some self absorbed jerk from Chicago just cause a bunch of other people are...
Bare shaft tuning wasn’t even a thing in the 80s and 90s and of the two bows i’ve owned over my 35 years of hunting i’ve not shot a bare shaft ever. So no, not necessary at all but have at it if you want.
100% agree. Its a shame kids are made to take hunting, well most things actually, so seriously by like the age of 6 nowadays. Nothing like roaming the woods as a kid with a .22 and a friend on a nice Sept day just chasing bushytails without a care in the world.
For me small game 100% is just about having fun or taking my 10yo along with zero pressure to find animals, though we always do.
I really dont take it seriously at all in fact I look at it as more of a diversion when im feeling burned out on bowhunting and need to take a break from it but...
