Tell me why I shouldn't move to wyoming...

The wind outside of rock springs blew the fenders off of my jeep once. I couldn't believe it.

How many have missed animals due to a failed scope?

I learned one thing from reading this thread. I'll probably never own a Vortex scope. I'm primarily a Zeiss and Swaro guy, and those brands have never let me down. I do have a Vortex Razer HD spotter, and it's been fine with use and abuse.

How many have missed animals due to a failed scope?

Before hunting with my rifle, I always 25 yard zero in the field or any local range. I realize you can lose zero, but it's a quick/easy way to ensure you're GTG before shooting at something. I've missed or lost a few animals because I neglected to take that simple step...

Best Underwear - Not the thermal kind

If someone could build a merino that's as durable as synthetic, I would convert 100% too. It just doesn't seem possible to build something in a natural fiber that is as durable as synthetic. I wouldn't try to wash anything with zippers in a machine with it. It will fall apart. I'm down to...

Best Underwear - Not the thermal kind

As far as briefs, Saxx and ex officio are good. I've beat the hell out of those doing work, and they've been bulletproof so far. I was surprised to see all of my KUIU, BlackOvis, and Sitka merino form holes pretty quickly, and that was just daily wear—nothing really stressful. I picked up...

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

I won't be selling mine in green or sub-alpine anytime soon. It can take the place of multiple layers imo but yeah they are going nuts on this stuff. It's a FINE high output, layer that blocks wind.

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

If I ever sell my XXL Mountain EVOs (because I have two) on here, I would market them to a guy who is 6ft+ and over 200 lbs. That is an XXL in this jacket. At 190, you would do well in an XL.

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

I get the whole 'close fitting' layering thing, but as you said, it's inconsistent and can't fit perfectly for every body type. I'd rather wear a slightly baggy tech garment than something uncomfortable. I'd say if you're over 200 lbs and under 6'2", size up for sure. If you're comfortable...

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

I did find the Mountain Evo to be what I would call a 'super athletic fit'. It's a pretty close-to-body wind shirt, for sure. I typically go XL and went XXL in the EVO, and I'm super happy I did.

    Kuiu Ridgepoint?

I just purchased one of these. It has a strong fleece exterior. It feels EXACTLY like the strongfleece and I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't replace it. It's fully body-mapped, with mesh on the back and underarms and fleece in the arms, shoulders, and chest. I love it, but it runs pretty...

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

I purchased a KUIU Ridgeline fleece zip T, and it arrived yesterday. They use the exact same pattern of full mesh on the back and underarms and fleece on the shoulders, arms, and chest. Full body map. Crazy, but it works. I'm sitting in it now on the computer and can feel the coolness on the...

    KUIU Ridgepoint Fleece

If they added a hood and windstopper, this piece of gear would cover three layers. https://www.kuiu.com/products/ridgepoint-fleece-zip-t-ash-tonal?variant=43227445461150
