Not surprising things are barely any better today. I was recently told ‘you can always count on stupid people to continue being stupid’ and that’s now how I view the future economy. Same with cars - those prices won’t come down anytime soon. People will continue to spend money they don’t have...
The rattling interiors was on the 2022 model from what I gathered. Have been hearing it’s gone in 2023 models. And I think the original complaints were blown out of portion
The hybrid option is very publicly stated to only be used to improve engine performance, not fuel economy. The guy who said he was getting 16 mpg is not typical, but only marginally lower. Guessing that guy was in a hilly region and/or larger tires. 19-22 is more typical. I’m not sure about the...
I’m sure this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn’t find my exact questions anywhere. For archery hunters that are flying out to their hunts, do you not have coolers with you until you get back to town with the meat in the car? From what I’m gathering, no one is getting their meat...
I can’t comment on the boots you’ve asked about, but keep in mind that the ‘hunting’ boot is a marketing ploy. Hiking boots are hunting boots. Wear whatever will allow you to get around the mountain most comfortably (I.e, not wear you out and not give you blisters). If that’s tennis shoes - go...
I use a Spott Hogg Wise Guy with the rigid strap. It’s an adjustable length metal arm for the hook. You can flip it back to the underside of the wrist and it will stay there based on the friction in the pivot point. Pretty easy to flip it back down when needed.
I haven’t really understood the price of some of these mounts. I bought a v bar off Amazon for $33 and it came with two quick disconnects. Works perfect for me. Haven’t smacked it against a tree, but also haven’t had any problems with anything coming loose. https://a.co/d/i9p1Jz6
I’d maybe recommend going down the YouTube rabbit hole of what regular backpackers carry. Anything not hunting specific (weapon, binos, knife etc.) would be the exact same gear or same principle. And those YouTubers focus on minimizing weight to the ounce. Seems like most hunters aren’t obsessed...
I mean obviously you always range and gather as much information as possible. But animals don’t go exactly where you want them to. And the further away you get, the bigger the margin of error. I realize it’s an arrow so it’s never going to be perfect, but having that confidence to make a clean...
It sounds like OP takes what he has for granted. Your standards for ‘quality hunt’ sound high, which is great for you! Many people would kill for a better OTC opportunity but that’s clearly not possible. Any elk hunt is better than no elk hunt for most. And I’d venture to say the OTC crowd is...
This for sure has been asked a lot and in every thread I read, I have yet to find anyone saying their arrow was too light. I’ve struggled with this because I love the idea of high FOC, but I’m a 27” draw length and pin gaps go to shit very quickly when I increase the weight. I’ve landed around...
That’s good data. I’m not sure why so many would hold out in that case. I also had the thought today - say you waited decades to draw one of these coveted tags. I am guessing most people would then hire a guide to maximize chances of an amazing hunt after waiting so long. But if you’re going to...
I do like this idea and Montana has a similar system in place, but it is very difficult to go straight to that. You would have to implement something in between to allow point holders to make decisions over a couple years before it goes into effect. And realistically, those next couple of years...
I certainly give you exact advice as I don’t shoot a Matthew’s, but this gohunt article might be helpful (forgive me if it’s behind the paywall). https://www.gohunt.com/content/skills/bowhunting/what-does-it-really-mean-to--tune--your-bow-
In short, it says move the cams left to correct left tear
Do you have the right spined arrow? Recent thread on a similar issue with Matthews. If backing off poundage is helping, that seems worth following.

In terms of what to look for when buying used, the main things would be the condition of the string, cams, and limbs. You won't ever know exactly how many shots have gone through a bow, but I'd build contingency into your budget to get new strings for the bow ($100+) unless it's advertised as...
Will also recommend trying to simply adjust your rest in the opposite direction. Know several people have recommended that but didn’t see OP report back on that attempt. I originally moved my rest towards my FP when Broadhead tuning and it never grouped. Moved back to the start position and then...
