Okay, I shortened up both frames and both are better. I also removed the small rectangular pad from the Xcurve and one of the full size pads from the center lumbar pouch. That helped a lot. Going to wait a while and try both on later. The only “problem” with the Xcurve now is it feels like...
[ If you are getting a ton of low lumbar/tailbone pressure or top of glute pressure then the pack is riding too low.
It's worth mentioning start with the waist belt centered on the top of your illiac crest which should be well above where your pants belt rides.
Thanks that helps a lot I am...
The entire Xcurve felt uncomfortable from lumbar to top. However, I watched the SG video on fitting your packs. They talk about making sure the “color change” spot on the shoulder pads hits at your collar bone. I tried that, but I am not convinced I have it “right“ just yet. I was...
Very good advise - tried both this evening. First, getting the shoulder straps adjusted to the proper length for your torso is far more important than I realized. I worked with that a lot tonight. I then tried each with 20 pounds, and the Xcurve provided too much contact making in...
I didn’t see any recent threads comparing the two packs. One of each just arrived yesterday, now to decide which to keep. Without a local store there is no other option than to buy and return one. These packs are vastly different in terms of how they feel. I would like to say it is just...
If you look at the photo on their web page it shows a pic of them on a scale displaying over 2 lbs. Then if you read the description it says the stuff sack is 10 oz. Then when you read about the XL BOMB it says the set is 11.7 oz whereas the regular is 10 oz. If you have a set I would...
Killing time waiting for goose neck hitch to go in a truck. Here is what I seem to have found.
1. Caribou Carnivore III - (5) bags each 16x30 total weight 13 oz $55 (this includes 4x4 plastic and a zip tie and some stuff that if not taken would cut weight.
2. TAG BAGS (4) bags 14x34 (2) bags...
Maybe I should have searched some before posting. It seems many like Caribou Gear at 13 oz, Argali at around 15 oz, but unless I am missing something Felix40s from NW seem pretty darn sporty at 7oz for 5 bags. The size is 13x29. Should work for boned out meat.
In the 90s I made my own game bags, and have tried a number since then. Last year I used the Koola Buck bags, and I will have to say the antibacterial liquid they are drenched in works darn well. It keeps flies away and the bags are sturdy enough to hang boned out meat in the NM shade...
Thanks for the info. I too have went to lean meat: elk, venison, lots and lots of fish mainly salmon, pheasants (have 4 darn good bird dogs and probably have 300 in the freezer mainly from preserves), and turkey. I love peppers and salads so that is a staple as well as cheese and dill...
I am taking Metformin 500mg morning and 500 in evening. It is at a high of 120 in the morning and runs just above 100 through the day. So yes, I feel like I am doing pretty darn well after only finding out 3 weeks ago tomorrow when it was 422 and a A1C of 10.5.
I use to be 100 percent in my hand or over my shoulder with hand on stabilizer. Last year I tried a sling - hated it. I also tried attaching to my pack with those plastic/rubber twist ties the proper name of which escapes my CRS brain right now. I loved that. I realize there is a risk of...
