    Whhat to do?

I would start the other way- decide what bullet and powder (or pellets) you want to shoot and see what's readily available. Personally I would go .50 cal, just more versatile and usually readily available with more options. I have shot sabots with a .44 cal bullet. You could also use the same...

    Bighorn Sheep Tag Process

Texas already allows them to be hunted year round. Problem is the private land. There has to be an incentive for the landowner to get rid of them. As of now there is none and they can sell aoudad hunts for $5-7k I do wonder what their effect is on the native Desert Bighorn Sheep in the area...

    Bighorn Sheep Tag Process

First forget about ever planning to draw a bighorn sheep tag. Odds are just against it ever happening, especially starting late and a Non-resident of a state with Sheep. Best Alaska Moose Outfitter?

The other thought is Kamchatka, Russia has historically killed huge moose. With the recent political climate a hunt there might be a good deal nowadays with good trophy potential with the lack of pressure lately!

    Best Alaska Moose Outfitter?

“Best” for one may not be for another. Need to prioritize your definition of “best”- do you want 100% success rate? Do you want the biggest moose possible? How difficult of hunting environment or least amount of work? Accommodations? Food? Don’t forget the NWT has Ak-Yukon moose and allows...

Kansas NR Deer Draw - New Rule Being Enforced Heads Up

That’s the way it is in all the other states I apply in. The states make everyone pay to play. There is a state that allows you to opt out of buying the license if you Don’t draw, but then you cannot build any points towards future draws. Many western states are also charging $100+ per...

Thoughts on purchasing hunting land in CO

From what you are saying you have a limited budget. I would not buy land in Colorado for "western" big game like elk, mule deer, antelope unless you start talking sections of land (thousands of acres) which would be in the multiple of million$ Now your budget seems to fit a whitetail property...

Aging a Broomed Ram in the Rain

Hard to say for sure but my guess is 7-8 yrs old and a 150" class ram. What state and area? Is this a California (usually smaller) or a Rocky bighorn? looking at harvest data in the closest unit can give you an idea of average base and horn length measurements.

    how dumb is this/are people?

Collectors items? Who knows. There was a legit deal back in the day when you used to be able to buy certain collectable coins for face value with a credit card. You could get all the cc awards/points then turn the coins back in at the bank and repeat. Lots of free flights were earned off...
