I've never looked through Mavens but when comparing my Swarovski Els with my Leupold guides and my Vortex vipers the biggest thing I notice it the field of view. They image is brighter and clearer through the Swarovskis but the field of view is my biggest benefit.
Mine rode pretty low with the standard harness. I swapped their harness for the marsupial harness and it helped, but I'm still looking for the perfect bino harness.
I agree with everyone as far as the guide jacket is concerned. It's a lightweight soft shell, nothing more. Slightly lighter than a North Face apex soft shell.
It does provide some warmth and stops a bit of wind but excells at neither. Nor is it waterproof.
That said, I own one and do wear it...
When I painted my Magpul Remington stock I removed the action, hung it up, blasted it with brake cleaner and then spray painted with Krylon. I did three coats with tan, green, and brown using cedar boughs as stencils. I think it turned out well.
