Just for perspective. I killed a black bear with my 9mm and cheap remanufactured Remington 115 JHP. One shot to the chest, and the bear ran 30 yards and pilled up against a tree. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use a .357 especially out of a rifle.
That would be awesome. There are 4 of us currently. We would definitely have to learn to fly fish first ;). We have looked hard at Pyramid Lake in Nevada as an option once we learn to fly fish.
Is the Boundary waters in Minnesota? Do you remember what outfitter you used?
I am sure I could convince everyone to live on hotdogs and bologna sandwiches for a week. I think we all realize we are there for the adventure and not the food.
I have a group of close friends that I have known for about a decade now. We routinely get together in our home state of Utah to shoot, hunt, and fish. I would really like to plan a group trip out of state. I don't think any of us would care if it's hunting or fishing. I would like to keep...
I have yet to shoot it because I am waiting on a suppressor, but I had a 1/8" .223 barrel rechambered to 22 Creedmoor after reading various posts from @Formidilosus. It sounds like multiple individuals in his group have rechambered the 1/8's without issue.
So here is my question.....When do you guys open up a "Rokslide" Shooting School? I would pay pretty money, and gladly work the OT to get it, to get hands on learning from these guys you have access to learn from.
So I used what @Formidilosus recommended. I didn't round up on my second numbers, I just used the second number at face value.

Also with wind brackets. If I have a 4mph cartridge, do I half my corrections values for a 2mph wind, 1.5X it for a 6mph wind, and 2x it for a 8mph wind? Just wondering if it works that way?
So I want to make sure I am thinking along the correct lines with this Quick Drop stuff.
I ran my ballistics app using a 108 ELDM @ 3000 fps. To get my estimated "quick drops" to match dead on with the calculator, or to be within .1 mil, I had to deduct higher values from the base as my...
@Formidilosus would you have an article or a Rokslide thread you could recommend for learning to use mil scopes for “quick drop and wind brackets“?
I have read both referenced on here multiple times and I would like to learn how to do both.
I have looked at them dozens of times, I just don't know about cutting the fluted barrel down so I can run a suppressor. Anyone have any experience with cutting down a fluted barrel to run a suppressor?
