What do you do about ATV/Snowmobile idiots?

Get detailed pictures, with some way to ID the vehicle/snowmoblile/or whatever, with some way to prove location. Around here, the FS law enforcement is shorthanded and generally takes several days for any kind of response........if they even return the call.

    Recoil?

Gave up shooting at the range 5 years ago, way to many idiots. Now, all of my shooting is in the "field" with most shooting off of my hunting pack, and a few other positions, but No bench or bags. For me, anything over 130grn 270 just takes a lot more work to shoot. 223, 243 I am reaching for...

    Best kid one liners

Friend of mine and his wife woke up to their 4 or 5 year old boy standing on the couch looking out the window, yelling MOTHER F er. When mom asked him why he was yelling that he pointed at the tipped over garbage can and said, "thats what dad always says when the dogs get in the garbage??"

    Cotton Socks

Never tried the cotton on the outside of the wool, but have done cotton or some synthetic sock inside of wool for the best results for me. I cant wear a wool (tried many brands) against my feet, they do stay warm for awhile, but the wool just doesnt absorb moisture as fast as cotton and my feet...

This turned out much different than he planned

That lake was on my list for this summer, but ran out of time... So was he just too tired to hike out to the road when they told him to or confused/panicked?? I have seen snow (even just 3ft) that took so much time and energy you could find your self in a bad way trying to get out, but the...

Anti's get their way in Montana

It sucks that these numbers are so easily changed by both sides, but it really does nothing to change the amount of wolves being killed. The same few guys that have always been killing them will still be doing their thing. Meanwhile the rest of us do nothing more than buy a tag just in case...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Elevation is 5k or so. And like I said, have only shot them to 100yds as that is the max range they will get used for....for now.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I have only shot them (77tmk) at 100 yds so far, but in two 1:9 rifles accuracy was very good. Even tried them in a 1:10 rifle and shot a .75 10 shot group?? Killed a deer with one of the 1:9 guns. Seemed to perform as expected. 100yds

Most Comfortable Vehicle for Forest Roads

I have zero experience in the sand, but I would imagine the 8-12ish psi I hear they run, would be much harder on tires than low single digits in the snow.

Most Comfortable Vehicle for Forest Roads

I dont think airing down to 15psi even 10 times a year will cause problems if the speed is kept under 15-20 mph. We have had years where we were aired down 50+ times and almost always at 5psi or less on a big 40 inch tire, creating lots of sidewall flex, but almost always on snow and very...

    PSA on having spare tire

Got a flat one night about 13 miles in and no spare. Peeled the tire off the wheel with a stick and a screwdriver and drove out slowly. ROUGH ride and ruined wheel, but didnt have to walk......

Most Comfortable Vehicle for Forest Roads

Airing down can make pretty much anything tolerable to drive on rough roads, but depending how much time you spend in the woods, can get old really fast.

    Kenetrek break in?

Fit wise for me, the guides are slightly wider and slightly longer. They tend to stretch out more during the day without the rand all the way around the boot.

    Kenetrek break in?

I have gotten them wet intentionally and worn them until dry. Has taken several times, but they do form. Just dont take them off really wet and put them on a boot drier. The mountain guides are heavier

    Kenetrek break in?

The problem I have with kenetreks is tightness across the top of my foot up near the ankle, causes tingling.... Doing the heel lock lacing method cures this for me. One thing I will say about breaking them in, is DONT use any waterproofing of boot dressing on them until they are well broken in...
