I threw a near max or max load in a case and ended up a pseudo nose ring in the bullet it was so compressed, I just pulled the bullet and grabbed the XBR.
not trimming, I also believe less brass flow equals longer brass life. Unless, of course, you load hot enough to blow the primer pockets. I'm shooting the 108's 3066 and I guarantee I'm doing it with less pressure than a standard .243. Additionally, if you Ackley it you can send a dummy round...
I got very close to 3K fps with the 77 TMK seated at book length and book max charge of N540. The groups sucked so I didn't continue to investigate it.
My Tikka 223 shot best when I was able to load longer than stock mag length. I think I ended up about .040 off, that produced better groups than jumping from mag length with the 77 TMK.
I have the cabelas Tikka in 243 and had the Savage UL in 6.5 PRC. They are both good guns, there is nothing wrong with getting rid of a gun if it doesn’t work for you.
I can 100% say that coming from Colorado to KS or NE I wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. Yet western states take all the hate and blame from NR. I guess it’s a 2 way street.
