Alliant reloader powders in stock at Brownells

I was actually able to buy 5lbs of reloader 17 today. If there were any 1lb jugs I was too late. I think they have rl16 also. No rl26 by the time I looked, not sure if they did get any... Good luck

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Bears are soft, nothing compared to a moose or even an elk. Thin hide and small bones...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I think explosive lead bullets are more of a DRT thing than a good blood trail event...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

One thing I noticed, is that all the manufacturers use straight flutes, and I'd guess that a spiral fluted barrel would have more lateral deviation versus a straight fluted one. So, I just emailed Kampfeld to see if he has any straight flute options that can remotely approach the significant...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

Ok, I finally found some sound science on fluting. I'll get this thing under 5 pounds when my bank account recovers and I'm ready to lose the rifle for a month or two (Kampfeld)...

Turns out the stuff I got is white (I didn't pay much attention), so they'll never see me now!

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

Well, it came in 1.9oz over budget since I decided to not flute it as of yet. Really nervous about losing accuracy. Here it is with the titanium bolt handle, hunter stock, 3x9 ultralight, and 22 creed threaded barrel. The smaller bore added an ounce or two. What do we call a cross of a...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

@petespistol Thanks for the tips and amazing article link! I already have an email off to them to see how much they actually shave off the barreled action. I get my 22 creedmoor mountain ascent with hunter stock back tomorrow. I'm hoping it will be right at 5lbs with 18" barrel scoped (3x9...

You've carried a suppressed rifle far and wide

Love the antenna analogy 😄 I ended up with 18" for both my 6.5cm and 22cm. Now I just have to wait FOREVER for my can to be approved.

White bathroom caulk or clear bathroom silicone for smearing on the rifle sling for non slip?

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Thanks! All the fast powders I see listed for 22creed seem to be unobtainium. -or best speeds that is.

    The 22 creedmoor thread

I found this thread after I started another one about badlands 2 bulldozers. Anyhow, any recommendations for what powders are optimal for a 70 grain mono with 18" 1:8 .218 barrel? Would the 70gr bullet work better or worse with the h4350 that so many are using with 88gr? Thanks for any...

22 creedmoor or other fast .224 Badlands 2 anyone?

Anybody running 70 grain badlands 2 bulldozers in their fast .224 cal rifles? I'm about to roll some in 22 creed, and curious if anyone has any results? I'll probably just start with some low end 75gr eldm charges if nothing else. Looks like I might get in the 3350 fps range with my 18"...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

For you few mono shooters; anyone try .224 bulldozer 2's? BC of .47 IIRC. I'm going to see how small bears and big bucks like them first...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Thanks, looks like I'll have to look in to a .223 bolt gun and join the cult. Would a tika be a suitable trainer for a kimber bolt gun?
