Since I have used both, I can see why crossbows are popular. I can see why draw bows are popular too. It has all been said above on pros and cons. Each has his own reasons why they hunt and that's fine with me. For me, just shooting a draw bow gives me return, getting to hunt with one makes...
I bought a crossbow because of shoulder injuries and hate it. So much so that I am researching getting back to a compound. The act of shooting a compound, recurve or longbow has a zen like quality to me, A crossbow has none of that.
Crossbows are killers for sure. They should be more...
So if the trade shows will be cancelled this year, will Sitka announce and show their 2021 introductions online? Will that still be later than the competition?
Any thoughts?
Yeah the zippered side pockets are important for me. If the Shape Charge had those pockets and I could fit the Incinerator in the main bag, I would have my dream pack.
Junior, You hit on one of my main concerns... size in the stand. I am sold on the layout because I have an old cabelas daypack that is layed out the same as the 357 and shape charge and does everything but is not big enough for late season clothes on below 10 degrees hunts. Think Incinerator...
That's my pack!!! Same color even. I still have it.

Ordered my seeds this past week so I could get the seed that works best for my taste and locale. I'm thinking seed may be...
The Mountain Man thread got me thinking about all the places I have been and places yet to go. I always wanted to cross the "Bob Marshal" and "River of no Return" hunting or even just backpacking. Another is British Columbia. And New Zealand".
So many adventures out there that life is way...
Thanks for the reply guys.
It was a long time ago but the memories are strong. Your mention of the ranger station brought back seeing it in my mind. Also remember seeing an Indian Head carving on a rock along the way.
I want to make that trip again to retrace my steps. If I get back there...
I have been rereading this thread and the "Social Dilemma" thread in light of actions taken by twitter, facebook, apple and the like. It is telling that most posters recognize the negative influence that these entities are having on our well being. That is a positive indication because once...
Maybe someone on here knows this place and has been there.
Forty years ago I was cutting across Idaho trying to take a scenic backroad way to Montana from Oregon. It was early October and the weather was dry and beautiful. I'm pretty sure the last town was Elk City and then one lane dirt from...
