Man I am excited for you! I would not be able to wait for the rut to start either!
Thanks for writing up a great post with lots of interesting info. One of the blessings of hunting is really learning the habits and habitats of wild creatures.
I'm glad the biologist was helpful and...
Thanks for sharing your adventure on Rokskide. Do you mind to share what unit you drew? And what the biologist told you about sheep habitat and behavior? I may never draw a sheep tag but I'd still like to learn about them and at least pack in and glass a heard some day. Either way, I'm...
To select arrow spine, follow the manufacturers' chart. Note: the chart usually assumes 100 grain point. You are shooting 125 so you need to bump up to the next stiffness.
If you want to get the most out of a hunting arrow in terms of penetration, take your time at the shop and measure the...
I totally agree with you buckeye. I used to get frustrated with neighbors shooting smaller bucks. Hey, if they are happy, good for them.
Of course, I'll still try to convince other hunters to let deer grow . . . But if their priorities are not the same as mine, I still wish them a successful...
I'm looking for a lightweight, compact pan head for my Nikon Monarch 10x42s.
Would you recommend the va-5?
What did you use it with and why sell it now?
I've not used tripods with optics very much so any info or advice you share might help me make a purchase

Like you mentioned, the 7mm...
Springfield KY actually. Like you, I hunt everything Kentucky has to offer. Plus I'm starting to do out of state trips. I've been to South Dakota, Michigan and Arizona so far. I'm very new to western hunting, but my advice is just do it. Find a hunt that's not too expensive and doesn't take...
Alrighty, maybe this forum can help solve a mystery for me. I was hunting in Arizona January 2021, standing on Indian head mountain getting set up to glass for javelina and coues deer. Full sun, blue sky. Then I saw a white flash. Very quick, like a flicker. The whole sky and landscape...
Originally, there blades were made in Solingen, Germany. They were excellent. Now the website just says made in USA. they may or may not be as good as the originals. I can vouch for the originals and recommend stainless for longevity and reuse.
God, creator of all that is good, bless Nate with loving family, diligent doctors, peace in his soul, strength, hope, and, most of all, the companionship of Christ your Son who walked the road of suffering for us, to show us that carrying the cross leads to Glory, Amen
