So, you went smaller caliber, but not down to .223…
30-06 to 6.5 cm for me. Could've stuck with the 06 and been happy enough, but I do enjoy less recoil. The wife's rifle/my backup rifle is a 18" barreled 243 that is a real pleasure to shoot. I do not feel undergunned with either hunting anything in Colorado.- douglasfir

I went to REI and laid down in a “wide” model Magma 15 bag. It has a 70 inch girth at the shoulders. It seals up really well at the top though with a nice baffle and the hood is really comfortable. Yeah, I felt the same way about it honestly. When I've tried the five piece belt, it feels awesome with little to no weight. But with decent weight in it, the two wings coming off of the lumbar pad dug into my back. It was downright painful. I agree that the podcast was less than impressive...- douglasfir

Japan made Burris Signature HD latest model selling for $207 on Amazon
Frankly guys I'd regard this thread with some caution. A lot of hype from one user. I have owned both these and the Athlon Midas in 8x42 and they are very similar, with a definite edge to the Midas in basically every category.- douglasfir
