What is the OP's age?
After doing a Linear Progression (Starting Strength) your age might determine where you go in the Intermediate Phase. Your ability to recover is most important which is why something like the Texas Method can totally crush the wrong trainee. Stress>Recovery>Adaptation(get...
New 3D target thread after some recent discussion with Rinehart.
I have a few Rinehart targets and the foam does not all perform the same regarding arrow pulling. All targets have been extremely durable.
On their website some targets list Signature Foam and others FX foam or a combo of both...
Brilliant! and nice photography.
I don't understand the physics or chemistry of this get but it definitely works.

Meindl comes in a 14 but be sure to check the sizing recommendation because their sizing runs a little large.
They have other hiker models too.
Rinehart makes some nice 3D targets. And they also make some very average targets. You want a Rinehart that uses the same foam as the 18-1. If you are only shooting trad bows then it may not matter as arrow pulling isn't usually a chore.
Antlered targets are more expensive so I usually avoid...
Rinehart. But when it comes to deer targets you have to pay attention to which foam you are getting.
You want the same foam that is in the 18-1 so you can remove your arrows in cool weather without a winch or a come-along.
I've got a small 3D course in the woods behind my house and my best...
When I started shooting a bow (1960's and 70's) we only had small square hay bales with paper plates for vitals. My dad would never let us put the plate in the center of the bale for exactly the reason you mentioned. The bale also lasted longer.
Today I use a 3D target for hunting/treestand...
The Comfort Fit insole is the first insole from any boot manufacturer that I didn't immediately toss in the trash. I really like it. Thin crappy insoles especially in high end boots are my pet peeve.
If the Comfort Fit Hiker fits your foot and hiking/hunting needs it is a well made boot.
Agree 100%.
Unless we go to war with deer and elk and they start shooting back I've never seen a reason for marathon practice sessions.
(Sometimes I do fall into the "last arrow has to be in the 10 ring" trap so I try to finish on a 5 yard blank bale shot or two.)
Edit to answer the original...
I ended up buying a Keeton. The anchor is a little different at first but it is comfortable to draw and allows my shoulder to tolerate more shots in practice. I might still hunt with the Short and SweetR.
I've also tried a Stan Axis and it's real nice to draw but the thumb button learning...
Is there any way to know if hunter density was actually affected by going from OTC to a draw?
It seems like everyone that applies gets a tag.
I guess the draw just weeds out those Texans and Oklahomans who don't want to plan ahead and apply for the draw.
When I used to bow hunt there in the OTC...
I use Polar Bear original (size 48) for transporting frozen fish from Alaska in the summer rather than the usual fish boxes. They work perfectly. Easy to carry 50# and they don't break the bank plus less likely to be stolen.
Polar Bear is having one of their sales right now. 50% off. Code is...
Some of the deer studies using GPS collars are pretty amazing. They show changes in deer movements beginning the day before the season opener. The studies I saw were in Pennsylvania (rifle season).
Actually the granite-like plastic on the legs of Glendel bucks and some McKenzie deer targets provided strong motivation to keep your shots at least in the body
