Its all good, sorry if I came off wrong. Most high end Japanese knives are made from a high carbon steel or a powdered steel. Most japenese knife guys prefer high carbon steel, but the powdered steels have a very high HRC with more corrosion resistance and they are used in some knives. Your...
What do you mean? It says it's S45VN.
This is way better steel than in cheap German knives.
Shun is overpriced unless it's on a big sale. VG-Max is pretty much VG-10. FWIW, it's not high end Japanese steel.

I don't find the 6900 to get sloppy in bivy mode. Just as a counterpoint for the OP - not negating your opinion.
OP... The whole point of SG (to me) is that they are light and work fantastic in bivy mode. I used to have numerous bags when I had other manufacturers, but I still haven't found a...
You might be on the wrong forum, my friend.
The discussion of "backpacks" is the most popular subforum here outside of General Discussion.
Backpacks.
I love gear, but it always blows my mind when I see that.
I own 3 Tikkas, I'm not hating on Tikkas. I know that's a "thing" now, which is beyond me. Earlier in the thread there were posts stating/implying it's a big update.
If any of those individuals think that and want to sell me their outdated T3x with a magnum bolt face so I can build my next...
The tikkas have slow barrels opinion isn't formed vs another OEM barrel, it's vs a aftermarket barrel with a high end blank.
It's pretty commonly shown on long range forums that they are slower compared to a high end barrel. That's not saying they are slow compared another OEM gun...
I'm kind of confused... You guys know this isn't an updated T3x, right? Some of the posts are confusing me.
It's just a new model with a colored stock, cerakoted action/barrel, fluted bolt/barrel and muzzle brake.
Pretty cool, but not an update like T3 to T3x.
Less hunters, but the ones that hunt are more committed.
This has been the plan, IMO by Rinella, TRCP, BHA, etc. They know a committed populous, even if its a severe minority, can retain enough political pressure to sway things their way. I support these groups. I am not involved well enough...
I looked at all these options. I love SG and Kifaru, although my hunting bags are SG now - just my preference.
I went a different direction and bought a Arcteryx Brize. IMO its a better bag than the SG or Kifaru for traveling and around town stuff, and I use it on hikes and day hunts where...
They are stiff. And I love Tikka's. But they do feel cheap, so I dont blame the OP for thinking that way.
That being said - its all relative. For their lack of overall popularity, I've read more than a few threads on snipershide and LRH about the recent Brownings that didnt group that well...
For what its worth - Mine was a T3x to a T3x - not a T3. But its the same exact action. The CTR stock will have an upgraded (steel) recoil lug which is good.
