    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

What red dot would be light and affordable for one of these? I have the parts coming, minus optic and sling.

Kimber Mountain Ascent if you already have a super lite Tikka?

So I have a variety of Tikkas so no need to recommend them (love them), but in theory I feel like a 6.5 Creedmoor Mountain Ascent would make a remarkable do it all ultralight hunting rifle to add to the collection. Has anyone owned both of these and felt like they were different enough to keep both?

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

Does anyone use a 95 TMK in a standard twist 243 Winchester?

Hypothetical - Which powders would you choose?

I thought this might be fun for seasoned reloaders, plus helpful for people like myself who are new to the game and don't know what is a good start when buying powders. If you could only have 4 total powders to cover each category below, which would you choose? Overlap is encouraged if it...

    223 Loads

Obligatory disclaimer: I am not recommending this load. Just stating my info. 77tmk 24.0 varget CCI 450 2.26 coal Shoulder bumped .002" under fired length 2,550 fps from 16" AR. Haven't chronoed them through the Tikka yet. Maybe get another 100fps or so. They shoot good though.

6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

What loads would you start with with the below components? I'd like to comfortably hit 2800fps out stressing the brass if possible. Tikka 6.5cm 130 TMK H4350 Lapua SRP CCI 450 I was thinking starting at 41, 42, 43, and maybe 44 and see if I find pressure.

    I want a factory Tikka 22 creedmoor.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

This is probably a 2018 or so version. The guy got it as a raffle ticket winner back then and just wants to get the cash value he could have gotten at the time. Probably 750 bucks at most. I was going to see if he wanted to trade something else I don't use for it. Side note; I live in a nanny...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Anyone running 73 ELDM or 77tmks out of a mini 14? Wasn't sure how stability of the 1 in 9 twist was. I know a guy selling one and thought about it, but it's not as appealing if it's not going to shoot heavies.

    I'm done with Bergarbage!

My b14 308 will shoot in the neighborhood of 1.25" with federal fusions, but once the barrel gets "hot" (like 4 or 5 shots) it patterns like an over-under. I tried working working the stock, torque, scope/mounts, bergara sent me some new bolt parts since mine had MIM junk that was known to...

If youre rifle barrel were bent......

Can you tell where it's bent? I wonder if turning jt into a 16" barrel would be a good option too.

If youre rifle barrel were bent......

Id borrow something for this year and call Ruger and see if they will help you out with a new barrel. They're one of the few companies I'd think may lend a helping hand.

    Creedmoor. Sorry about that.

6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

Anyone have any 130tmk and varget or h4831sc loads they're liking.? I don't have any h4350 and I'm not sure if these two options will be too far from optimal to use.

your good (or not so good) customer service interactions of late

Simmons Sporting Goods: Excellent They had something I thought I wanted on sale (a holosun dot). Emailed them and they gave me a surprisingly good coupon code. I stupidly ordered the wrong version and emailed them again. They replaced it for me as soon as my returned package shipped (on their...

If you were to buy a timber gun…

If it was my money, and not choosing traditional options (mainly lever guns) or what I already use (tikkas with various scopes), I'd want a Kimber in 308 cut down to 16", gel pulled from it, and a 1-6 viper pst. I just can't imagine that not working for all woods situations.

200gr Terminal Ascent out of Tikka 1-11 twist

I see you already did your testing but just as another piece of info, mine would shoot 200g eldx well in closer ranges but it seemed to fall apart around 600 yards.
