    Neck Bushing Sizing

The fired brass measurements are just 2x wall thickness+bullet diameter. I didn’t measure actual fired neck diameter. I will measure that this evening and expect those dimensions to be very close. I will also try chambering this afternoon. Signs are pointing towards needing to contact starline

    Neck Bushing Sizing

In my chart for the hornady and Nosler once fired brass I am measuring the fired brass before resizing. I added two measurements of new factory hornady and nosler ammunition just for reference at the end of the chart. That was my concern regarding wall thickness being so high was that...

    Neck Bushing Sizing

That explanation makes sense. I don't mind buying multiple bushings; trying to pick 1 or 2 to get started with. It seems starline brass has pretty thick wall thickness when new which is what's really driving my concerns as it seems the final dimensions will be larger than SAAMI based on a .003...

    Neck Bushing Sizing

So which dimension should I subtract .003 from? The new starline brass combo, the SAAMI spec, or something else?

    Neck Bushing Sizing

All, I am new to reloading and am starting out with 7mm-08. Like a "noob" I did not realize a full length bushing die needed a separately purchased neck bushing. I plan to start out with new starline brass and either acccubond 140's, ELD-X 150s or ELD-X 162s. Measurements are below for this...

    Razco/Kuiu combo

Check out the Venandi setup that mounts on the back of most harnesses. I’ve worn it in my saddle without much issue and don’t even notice it hiking.

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Well I made it out to bass pro and a couple other shops to shoulder the potential rifles. I definitely understand the love for tikka now! The bolt just seems so much more refined than the other platforms. Even got to handle a savage 110 ultralite which while noticeably lighter didn’t seem as...

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Great advice everyone! Definitely giving me a ton to consider. Trying to find time to go shoulder these rifle options to narrow down my choices.

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

I definitely considered 270, good advice and definitely plan to head to some of the local stores to get behind some of these options! Finding time with a newborn makes it challenging but I’m in no rush. I’ll admit I am guilty of upgrading to upgrade because it’s fun and I enjoy tinkering...

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Definitely understood, which is why I'm planning this as a slow build. I'm pretty confident at the inside 200 yards I expect to be shooting deer/pigs locally; and the longer range plans are a couple of years out giving me time to practice and to upgrade the barrel.

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Honestly the 110 is the direction I was leaning and would be sold if stock availability was better. It seems like the carbon mesa is about the only game in town for this rifle. That long term build would look something like: Savage 110 Apex Hunter (Sportsmans $519) Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-15x42...

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Not stuck at all, it just seemed to check a lot of boxes based on initial research. Open to anything, .308, 30-06, 6.5CM, 7 rem-mag, etc. admittedly hadn't considered 300WM I don't have a ton of experience with rifles outside of a friends 30-06 and typical AR platforms, that's to say I'm not...

First Hunting Rifle--6.5PRC Long Term Plan

Hi All, Currently archery only hunter looking to pick up my first hunting rifle outside of a .22. I'm in the Southeast so Whitetail will be my primary target but want something capable of some western dreams down the road. I'm leaning towards 6.5 PRC for a caliber. (I don't currently...

    ~$225 Rangefinder Selection

Hey all, Apologies if this has been asked. I’m in the market for a range finder primarily plan to use it for bow hunting/3D targets. Looking at the following rangefinders to give you an idea of budget. (I’m listing prices I can get them at). Would love input if it’s worth spending the...
