    1P tent recommendations

Yes, figure out what you really need or value most. Or, be prepared to buy more than one tent! For example, a 2P is great for extra room but besides being heavier it might have a taller height, which is not desirable in high winds. Likewise, a 1P might seem cramped, but may also be warmer...

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Besides the barrel life/stability, some high volume shooters still prefer a .308 for: Trace with a .308 bullet can be easier to see than smaller diameters The relatively slow retained velocity can make it easier for spotter to see bullet trace to begin with Even if the shooter doesn't see...

Scope Leveling; Instruction that ran counter to everything I thought I knew

Not new, but maybe not mentioned much. Accuracy 1st has taught this for several years, maybe longer. They have been awarded many federal contracts for sniper and precision rifle training.

    Would you buy this scope?

All good points, Mac. One of the bigger risks to address will be to determine whom will cover warranty claims and under what conditions. The brand/retailer or the manufacturer? Especially if buyers feel that they have permission to push the durability and robustness claims. 36" drops will...

Why don’t the Kowa Genesis Binos get more love?

I used the Kowa 8x33 for grouse hunting in the snow for a season. The lack of CA was impressive!

Why don’t the Kowa Genesis Binos get more love?

Sometimes slow focuser is a good thing, for hunting binocs. Maybe less so for birding or action sports. I don't mind some resistance in the focuser, as it keeps it from inadvertently moving when going in and out of a chest purse.

    Would you buy this scope?

The reticle isn't the issue. There are a lot of people, especially at Rokslide for some reason, who judge other's equipment needs based on their own perception and previous experience. I was guilty of that for many years, especially hunting in areas with similar terrain, soil, and veg. There...

Why don’t the Kowa Genesis Binos get more love?

Back to Kowas... The 8x33 that I had did not seem very exceptional in use. However, every time I compared it side by side with my 8x42 SLC W B, I was really impressed. Other than the blackouts. In low light the 33mm was right there with the 42mm, with my middle aged eyes. Even in timber...

Why don’t the Kowa Genesis Binos get more love?

There's more to it than merely exit pupil. Eyecups and ability to achieve proper alignment contribute, as JGR posted earlier. For example, I have a 10x25 and never get blackouts unless I try to intentionally. The exit is tiny. Yet I was getting frequent blackouts with the Kowa 8x33. I now...

    Would you buy this scope?

Mike, That's assuming that everyone "sees" as well as you do. And that everyone is hunting in the same terrain (soil, rock, and veg) as a background. Jason

Contract manufacturing is not as simple as you think? There can be many factors.

I don't think that is correct. LOW made the HD scopes. Kenko made the Classic line.

Why don’t the Kowa Genesis Binos get more love?

The 8x33 Genesis does have a tripod exit unlike the other models.

    Would you buy this scope?

No, I would not buy it for $1500 sight unseen, or even commit unless the return policy is good and more details are provided. Each of these items are vague, maybe intentionally, but I understand that they are meant to convey general characteristics so please don't get offended by this: "Good...

SWFA website updated; More to come in 2024

If Chris Sr. is still in charge, I would bet things are squared away. But, I am not sure if someone else is running the show now. Maybe Jr. or someone else, and I don't know if Senior's knowledge and commitment have been handed off. It won't take long before we get reports, if there are major...
