Excellent point - adhesives and bedding can fail. And perhaps more importantly, detection can be difficult for partial failures of bonded/glued setups unless there's an obvious change in performance.
Bedding is not perfect, but at least you can periodically inspect it for integrity. The...
In my opinion, the short answer is - it depends!
The Cross uses a barrel extension and barrel nut. There could be issues, but I would be more concerned with the rail mounted to the top of the receiver. Have you checked yours for fit and fastener torque? If you remove it, look for any signs...
Green wicking variety works really well in my experience, but not easily removed like blue. Obviously depends on application.
If you contact Loctite technical people about wet vs dry torque, they will tell you that you need to perform your own study. It does have an effect no matter what the...
I like it, but would need...
- Flush cups on sides of forend tip
- Adjustable butt - height and cant
- Adjustable LOP
Those extras would add weight but that would be fine with me. Keep the folding mechanism. I'm sure Seekins can implement an effective one.
It took me awhile but I'm a fan of...
I'd like to see a picture and estimated weight as well.
Ideally with comparison to the new Allterra shown in the screenshot below. Not much info on the Allterra perhaps.
Thanks!
I went to a 7mm-08 in 2013.
Started with the 120 NBT, mostly due to Steve Timm.
Then 162 AMAX. Then 120 TTSX. Then sold it.
Had a few 300 magnums before then. Churned through a bunch of rifles before and since, and don't have any 7mm-08 now. Do have a couple 300 magnums again!
I'm not sure what a birder is! Obviously a bird watcher, but I don't think they all have the same needs.
Some watch birds in the backyard and others at the shore or large wetlands. Seems varied, like a tree stand hunter vs open country hunter.
What I have learned is that some "hunt" birds with...
They were strongly opposed to hinge mounted studs. I should have been more clear on that. And yes, they are hunters and not birders.
That has not stopped me from using the Outdoorsmans stud though.
The tripod exit design has been around for awhile, and I'm not sure it was ever designed for any particular user whether hunter, birder, spectator, etc. Some models have it and others don't. I bet most never get put to use, except astro binocs.
I like the bino stud for tripod mounting, but...
Holy smokes... 53 pages. Thought I recall seeing an image of the Rokstock but can't find it. I don't see anything on UM website either.
Curious how it compares/contrasts to the new design from Allterra or am I way off thinking that they have some similarities...
Good deal. Let us know how you like the Razor 50mm. I tried the new 56mm and it wasn't very good.
I think I paid $200 for the last ED50, so not too worried about warranty.
