SWFA website updated; More to come in 2024

When will the new SWFA review be on the Rokslide site? Pinned to the optics forum? Surely Rokslide has a production sample. Thursday or Friday?

SWFA website updated; More to come in 2024

My guess is that SWFA has been building inventory, with batches of scopes trickling in. We've seen Maven get batches, sell out, and people wait, right? I'd imagine SWFA has been in the same boat, maybe literally.

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

    Thanks, Ian. A so-called H-collar, instead of a C-collar.

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

Ian, this is excellent. Thank you, sir. 1) So the 2022 retains the C-ring or collar? And it looks like the bolt shroud still acts as a baffle? I'll wait for your reply to 2) before I ask any more questions. Thanks, Jason

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

Now that this thread is back on track... Can someone from RS or MRC answer the above two questions? Thanks!

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

Winchester even had some growing pains with the WSM feeding in their own rifles, and they introduced the cartridge!

    Would you buy this scope?

Good point, relevant for warranty replacement too.

    Would you buy this scope?

Hey, what's with the S2H logo for some members here? The Rokslide version of Social Credit Rating? Maybe put that logo on for people, if they have the quals 🤣

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

This is great news. Always nice to have new options, if done right 👍 Instead of asking a ton of questions... 1) What's the test procedure involve? 2) Can someone provide a design summary on function, robustness, and safety?

What is "proper cheek weld" I'm getting different advice

Consider this: Offhand vs prone Many still prefer low to the bore for offhand, whereas many practical precision shooters have embraced higher scope mounting for prone especially with a chassis. Ergonomics and shooter build factor into it as well, obviously.

What rifle is missing stock options?

84L would have my interest as well.

What is "proper cheek weld" I'm getting different advice

Try this: Light pressure/contact Eyes parallel to the horizon, or simply keep head level Look at others when they position behind the rifle. Is the head tilted? Once you start looking for it, you'll see a lot of shooters with head cocked. Moto riders are familiar with keeping the head...

    1P tent recommendations

You should probably do a search, so this thread doesn't get sidetracked.

    1P tent recommendations

FYI - you may not get many responses regarding SO, as a fair amount of people here do not support that company.

    1P tent recommendations

I like the Notch Li from Tarp Tent. It's well under 1.5 pounds with DCF and mine has a solid interior and DCF floor. Setup is fast and it's a true double wall, but it is by no mean spacious. I don't think the comparable 1P model from Durston in DCF is available with a solid interior and it is...

Does Loctite alter torque on scope rings

Cases like this, I would look at the tool used to apply the torque. Fat Wrench may have gone belly up. I tested several of them. There was some error with each as I recall, but one was way off. It was repeatable but the value on the scale didn't match the torque applied. Another would not...

    Would you buy this scope?

Quick search of the posts in this thread shows that several members would buy several scopes, if closer to $1000. Not trying the derail the mission here, but that would be encouraging simply in terms of volume or as a follow up model. I have no data to support this, but my guess is ~$1200...

    Tricer DZ head first impression

Thanks for the reply. I'd be interested in your thoughts if you put a spotting scope on there and tried to slowly tilt while viewing at a steep angle, pause and view, then repeat. Will it be smooth for viewing, and hold the scope when you stop tilting? Maybe too much to ask for, given the...

    Tricer DZ head first impression

Thanks for the post and pics. Two questions: Will it hold an 80mm class scope for high angle viewing? It doesn't look like there is separate drag control, so assuming that it can handle a heavy 80mm+ scope for high angle viewing, how is the tilt? Smooth, or do you need to fiddle with it...

Scope Leveling; Instruction that ran counter to everything I thought I knew

Not sure that your post helps the OP, so you may want to expand on the story with Accuracy 1st. My only point was that Accuracy 1st has taught shooters to cant the rifle as needed to fit their body during initial setup, and rotate the scope to accommodate. Presumably given certain conditions or...
