    Looking for a binocular upgrade

I’ll 2nd the bx4s, I had a pair I won and thought they were great for the price. I already have a pair of swaro els so I sold them, but if I didn’t already have something I liked I definitely would’ve kept them.

Please Welcome Hardside Hydration (& a free drink!)

I like bladders for the quick convenience of taking a sip whenever but I hate that all of the brands I’ve tried have eventually leaked so I don’t even bother anymore and moved to smart water bottles since they’re light pretty durable and easier to get in and out of the holders on my pack than...

Who is hitting opening day of LEGAL firewood season?

Funny, just today I was commenting to my wife that any more firewood cutting will be out until it starts raining hopefully in the fall again. Fire restrictions in ca. shut it down when it gets dry. Fortunately it’s just red oak for bbq and not for heat and I have a decent amount for the summer.

    Last truck question

Smart going with a gas truck especially if you’re looking at the new dodges. I work for a towing company and have towed a ton of the new dodge diesels. The smaller eco diesels are usually grenaded motors, the big ones have injection pump and tranny issues. The last one I towed was a 2 day old...

    Bigger pickup or smaller camper?

I went the small trailer small truck route myself. It’s just the wife and I with the dog and when camping we don’t spend much time inside except at night unless it’s really windy. It’s about 17’ and about 4klbs loaded so the tacoma tows it just fine even in the mountains, though the mpg really...

    Wild turkey breakfast sausage?

I agree, I’ve used this for deer and wild pig and was very good. Their Italian sausage seasoning is one of my favorites. Very pleased with everything I’ve bought from P&s

7mm rem mag and fed. 210m primers?

I was just talking to my buddy the other day about reloading stuff and he was telling me that he’s been using 210s for his 7mag for years. He said he didn’t have 215s at the time and loaded some up to see if they’d work and they did so he just stuck with it since he got good results and didn’t...

Camper Shell - Windoors or no?

I didn’t get them on the shell on my tacoma when I ordered it but eventually ended up ordering them and installing them myself later. Way worth it. I have an Arb zero 73qt fridge freezer that pretty much lives in the truck so I’m able to keep it all the way in the front corner and get in it from...

How Much PTO Do You Have?

That’s what I was thinking! I get 10 days vacation 5 days sick no rollover. Major holidays off if they happen to land on a workday but not paid. I’ve only used a few sick days in 15 years and was just thinking about how much money they have saved over the years by me not calling in sick.

5 degree bag in 60 degree weather

I do that with my wm badger. At 60 it’ll likely be next to you instead of on top of you, but you’ll be able to easily use what you need and they are light enough and compress small enough that it’s not worth the extra dough for me to buy two expensive bags. I’ve been happy I had it on a couple...

    Salsa & Hot Sauce!

This one hasn’t been mentioned and is good on chicken. Plenty hot and good flavor. For backpacking I got a box of miscellaneous packets of hot sauces on Amazon, mixes things up with something new. I often to the local Mexican grocery store to get carne asada or whatever and grab a bottle from...

    Grateful for a fishing/hunting mentor

My dad was a pos that took off when I was about 9yo. My grandpa lived and breathed hunting and fishing. He taught me a lot about both though I didn’t get to hunt with him too much outside of squirrels and coyotes. We did go on a backpack deer hunt that was awesome though unsuccessful. We set up...

    Heavy duty vacuum seal bags

I thought about trying the heavy duty ones food saver makes but Costco started selling a box of Kirkland rolls way cheaper than the pack of food saver brand. Comes with more and costs less. Seems to be similar in durability and has a stack of premade bags like the food saver box that are quick...

    Need to drop some weight

I lost 100 lbs about 5 years ago mostly due to the paleo diet. I also started exercising regularly but the diet made the weight loss happen and exercise made me fit. I started with walking a couple miles in the morning that turned into running and then ended up lifting weights in the gym and...

10mm hardcast - Buffalo Bore vs Underwood

I’ve shot bb through my lone wolf barrel with zero hiccups, but with the lead restriction while hunting in my neck of the woods I started loading Lehigh defense 190gn copper and am very pleased. My buddy threw one through the chrono the other day when we were testing some rifles and got 1200fps...

    Any Hog Hunters Here..?

Good luck, I think they have maps! I’ve only seen them on public here a couple times in quick glimpses and of course when not hunting. With the right public spot near the right farmland it’d definitely be possible, but I’ve only got mine on private. Doable with putting in the time, which I...

    Getting Started

I’ve been lucky finding everything but primers at the local shops hit and miss. I just check in often and buy when it’s there. Primers especially 215s have been scarce but I have found them once in a great while. The main local shop has been limiting to one box at a time to help spread them...
