My thoughts are Age class and high density would be my choice. Big bulls take age which can be tough outside of LE. Analogy for density would be not all 8 year bulls are going to make it to 350, but if there are more in the area the better your chances to find one. If I walk into salt lake I'll...
Lip bawl is a tough one, but once you figure it out and it clicks its easy after that. Trying other reeds will help also. Everyone is different and what works for me doesn't work for another. And congrats on the bull! In my experience if you can kill a otc bull in Washington you can kill a bull...
Every scenario is different. To many variables and factors to tell you when to use it. Honestly YouTube is your best friend with that type of question, and their are so many videos that will break them down and help you understand better.
I've never minded sharing information. General units and otc is one thing but not LE. It's very easy to scroll on by and not comment either. They will figure it out and if they don't it's no skin off my back.
Just think you could be complaining about elk hunters while selling a service that...
I'm considered borrowing some Llamas, but not sure if they will be availablefor me. I should have buddies coming in and out during the hunt to help as well. The getting away from crowds thing I'm reading can be difficult with the deer hunters, but the other half such as yourself say their are...
I would just run two battery packs. Some people have luck with panels, but I have not. Especially the hassle with always having the panel out and keeping it directed toward sunlight (if any) all the time. Makes your hunting partner really happy too when you're hiking with it off your pack and...
I go with the heaviest arrow I can while staying around 280fps. If I'm at 300 fps and 450 grains I'll up my weight until I get around 280fps. Currently running a 28" draw and with shorter arms I've always tried to shoot a faster bow and stay in the 75-80lb range. Currently I'm at around 507...
Somehow I managed to draw this tag my first time applying with 4 points. Bought points the first three years. To be honest I was shocked and will probably be returning my MT General tag as a result. I've only had the tag a handful of days and my biggest issue so far in scouting is finding areas...
That is no joke. Had someone loosen our diff cover and we got lucky and noticed a bunch if gear oil on the front of the trailer one year in the pioneer zone. Picked me up some dummy plates for a few states to blend in now, and havnt had another issue and always get more waves now.
Looks awesome. I'm yet to jump into the hot tent game, but might just have to give it a try now. Any plans to come out with a half insert that will still allow you to accommodate the stove in you're 4P Absaroka?
Awesome read! Thank you. I planned a fly in elk hunt there about 6 years ago and the guys bailed on me right when it came time to get tags. Didn't go. One of these years I'll make time to get in there and see it.
I carry both on my chest rig. Mace can be deployed with both hands but is faced for left hand and pistol is set up for my right hand. I run a 10mm with 220 grain buffalo bore.
I've deployed my mace twice in AK in previous years on fishing trips and it's done its job quite well.
Quivers always on for me. I honestly can't even remember the last time I took it off. Same with my pack. See alot of videos where guys dump quiver and pack as a bull is coming in. If that works for them then great, but not for me. If arrows are falling out go to a tightspot or similar where you...
