Nice! A thin, light shield is all that's needed, in my opinion. Protection from dings and scratches, keep dust off lenses, and something warmer to grab ahold of. Anything more than that and I might as well use the heavy cover I already have.
Yep, definitely a good feature for the Garmin. If I remember correctly, the zoleo has a much better battery life. Either way, I think the Garmin and zoleo are top of the game; both are way better than my old spot. It's good to see more options popping up and the competition will benefit us.
All my wranglers have lasted as long as my EBs, so far, plus better zippers, belt loops, and buttons. And no ridiculous Velcro on the back pockets - that drives me nuts.
The first pair I got several years ago: took them out of the box, tried them on, then climbed up into hell's canyon rim country from the snake river and side-hilled all morning for chukar. No issues.
Got the new version last month: took them out of the box and climbed Mt. Breitenbach (nasty...
I steamed my pastrami in the oven at 275 until the internal temp hit 160+.
Doesn't seem to have negatively impacted anything much, but I'll know more once I chop it up. Edges might have dried a bit. At least I know I won't crap my guts out 👍.
Any of the newer phones will work for pics in bright situations. They're all good. More pixels might be good, if you're expecting to make large prints.
Nice... Nothing I have done will kill it (pastrami recipe): "Smoking, freezing, or curing game meat does not kill all Trichinella species. Low –temperature smoking will not kill Trichinella, either".
I'll give it some time in the oven to get to 160F.
This is kind of a dead horse, but there's no consensus. 160F is the old school, safe temperature to kill trichinosis. That's well established. Newer info is saying 137F will do it.
Does anyone have anything definitive saying 137F is okay? I go to 140+ just to be sure, but there's no way to know...
