Need suggestions to fix my sleeping situation

I highly recommend the new Klymit Static V Luxe SL 27" is almost as nice as the 30" Static V Luxe but the SL is .5" thicker and higher R-value. Paired with a Nemo Switchback foam pad underneath in case of catastrophic failure and help avoid punctures. Plus it increases the R value considerably...

    Seek Outside - Redcliff

Guy outs can be tried to trees, trekking poles or sticks to increase the usable space inside. I highly suggest trying it as it gives a ton of more room inside.

    Seek Outside - Redcliff

I would suggest trying to prop the guylines up with sticks or trekking poles. This really makes the interior grow and make that space on the edges far more usable. I find it also really tightens up the entire body, at least with my Cimarron

Anyone using Hornady ELD Match for LR hunting?

The 180 ELD-M's worked great in my 7 Sherman Shortmag on 3 Caribou this September. 251yrds, 391yrds, 493 yrds. Exits the size of a tennis ball. Entrance Exit

    Those Using Woodstoves In Tents

Birch was pretty premium in Alaska compared to the scraggly jack pines or spruce type trees they have. Spoiled with wood in the Midwest

    Those Using Woodstoves In Tents

I have a SO SXL in a standard Cimarron an=148546&hash=9897552dee8d79166dbaaf58361e9378']Attach filesd love it. I was also torn between a box stove and a cylinder stove and had narrowed it down to a Seek Outside or Lite Outdoors. I ultimately chose the SO despite the extra weight because of the...

Backcountry Tent for Two & Drying Clothes

Love my SeekOutside Cimarron, a palace for one, great for 2. For warmer weather where mosquitoes (or ticks/snakes/etc) are a concern the nest options are great. For colder weather, ditch the nest and bring the stove. Won't burn more than a couple hours without restocking but is great to fire...

    Best sleeping pad?

Highly recommend the Klymit Static V lux (or SL for below freezing)

Idea for wider sleeping pad for back sleepers - for your elbows?

I have the both and must say the new SL vsions with the higher R Value (also thicker and lighter) is considerably warmer in my system yet just wide enough for my side sleeping arms. I do prefer the 30" width for my arms but feel it overlaps my Nemo foam pad too much allowing the air in the...

What gear was a pleasant surprise?

First Light long boxers - super comfortable, breathable, no stink and stay in place without riding up Versa Flow water filter with vecto bladders - faster than the Sawyer Mini and better designed to fit water bottles and bladders. ARCA plate on my rifle - sweet and solid in my Feisol 3342...

    Show me them tipis

Finally got a tarp for my Cimarron. Ordered a Luxe Polatouche hex tarp. Played with it today while burning in my new SeekOutside SXL stove. Love the setup! Tarp appears to be very versatile, played with a couple setups how I might want it for glassing Caribou next month in the rain. Running it...

    Issues with Cimarron Half Liner

I have found shock cord to be helpful at the bottom of my 1/2 nest in my Cimarron. I don't have experience with the liner in mine just yet but I would suggest trying some shock cord for the bottom tie outs as well as for the center tie-out. The nest has an attachment point for this center...

    Sleeping Pad for Big Guys

I am 6'1" 250 and am a slide sleeper who tosses about a bit in the night. I have a Klymit Static V Lux Insulated pad at 35oz (30"Wide x 76"L x 3" thick). I really like the elbow support when on my back and the added width is really nice for my arms when on my side. They have new, lighter...

    Loving my new Cimarron

Forgot to mention. Plenty of headroom. I am 6’1 and if the nest is pulled out tight, the screen stays off my feet and head just fine. Plenty of space between the nest and tipi wall as well but some adjust is needed if pitched tight to ground. Dry as a bone in moderate rain. Expecting heavy...

    Loving my new Cimarron

Love this thing! Very flexible setup with a bit of a learning curve. Bungie cord works best so far for nest to outside stakes. Really needs more door ties, one just isn’t enough. With the slightest breeze is starts to flap like a loose sail. The nest would be nice to be able to fully open 1/2...
