    RRS TFCX-13 vs Ascend-14

I need to find someplace to compare a 14L to a 24L, I don't really see myself needing a giant tripod and just want a better hunting version of what I already have (Feisol 3342). Looking for less torsional flex (twisting) at a similar weight (2.5lbs). I would not go less stable for hunting...

    RRS TFCX-13 vs Ascend-14

Have you taken it backpacking at all? wondering if it would make a difference to remove the lower leg section as it should still be tall enough for me to glass and shoot off of. My current tripod is 56"

    RRS TFCX-13 vs Ascend-14

Thank you for the quick reply. I see now what you mean about the heads seated differently which answers my question about the EurOptic link. Must be a special pkg they sell without the center column as I didn't see that listed on RRS.com site.

    RRS TFCX-13 vs Ascend-14

What is the difference between the Ascend-14 and the TFCT-14? Looks like the TFCT doesn't have a center column but confused by the one listed at Europtics that is a TFCT-14L Ascend seems to be a combination of both...

    Kuiu… on Amazon!?

Love my Kuiu Pro bino harness but I would never buy it from Amazon because Amazon controls the internet like a drug cartel and the company gets less of the money I pay which encourages cheaper products at the same high price to afford Amazon's huge margins they take/force

Leupold Mark 4 HD 6-24x52…drop test

Really putting in the effort to prove this scope works. I thought dropping it on the ground was sufficient but really appreciate you going the extra mile. Blood sweat and tears it is

R Value quantifiably impactful...w/out bag upgrade???

Most of your warmth is lost through the ground not out the top through the bag. I encourage everyone to play with their system and test their gear. I sleep warm so 50 degree bag is fine for me in 30 degree weather IF I have sufficient ground insulation. If my gournd insulation is poor a 20...

    Silencerco Scythe TI review

Required? No, Necessary? Yes. My buddy didn't think he needed one on his Scythe because he built a hunting rifle and wouldn't be shooting it that much (first time suppressor user). With the Scythe being a tubeless design, it heats up VERY quickly and mirage becomes very bad very quickly. He...

    Best picatinny rings?

ARC MBrace rings for the win. Extremely repeatable return to zero. I take my scope off very regularly without issue.

    Flying with Titanium Stove?

I prefer to take my titanium stove as an additional carry on. Stow it under the seat with me. Really not interested in having it crushed by some knucklehead. No had an issue yet.

Alpaca wool is better than merino.....

This is why I don't use 100% anything socks. I like some elastic sew in to keep shape and stay in place which requires the wool or alpaca to be less than 100%
