    Gunsmith was able to get the barrel off with no problems. I located a factory barrel, it is for a A Bolt2 3006 white gold medallion I am 95% sure that 22"stainless barrel is the same one as the A Bolt 2 stainless stalker model used?

    Yes I hope it does too, will have to post the results. Checking for replacement barrels it would be nice to upgrade over factory but wait times may not allow, upcoming elk hunt this fall and I will need time to develop a load using 180gr accubonds.

    I contacted a gun smith dropped it off on the way to work. I shared what Wrench said about a relief cut, now I hope he can remove the barrel, once that is done I will get a replacement for it.

    Thanks for the reply, yes stainless will gauld, I used to have to losen a stainless bolt a little at a time even then 70% success rate. Either a new barrel or rifle I am hoping to get a quality custom barrel as the action is fine.

    Scope for .308

    I went through the same process, 4.5x was to much power at low end, field of view to narrow for guick shots in timber. So I opted for 2.5x for the low end as for max. mag 10- 12x is plenty unless you plan to shoot over 550yds.
