I called USA FF 4 times. Total joke. and I definitely lost my furs. Hours of fleshing, freezing, packing, trapping. It was a load of beavers. Like 10 really nice ones. Not even sure anymore.
I'm bummed too, because I did a trap line trip just for Beaver, and I had to drive 10 hours each direction.
There are no Beavers local to me. 2 years, I lost hope of getting my fur back.
I heard Sleepy Creek has always been dependable.
My coons are getting smarter. They will not enter a coni box anymore. All the bait is gone from in front of the box. and a cage they will not even go near.
Time for DP's.
I have endless Raccoons. I have literally taken 75 Coons off 1 acre. Yes, I am backed up to state land, but the coon population is ridiculous.
If I really try, I can put 3 sets next to each other, and I'd have 2 coons by morning.
Anyone else have a ridiculous population of coons ...
Anyone have a problem with them? I sent them fur 2 years ago. Paid them, never received my fur back.
Now I have to chase them to get my money back, and I lost furs.
I helped someone do the gutless method. I was not impressed. Took a long time. Would have been far easier to gut the animal, throw it in the truck, and haul it over to the butcher. We drove the truck to the kill site regardless. We went to the butcher regardless. Literally...
I hunted 16a. The Elk are far & few between. Wolves, poaching, whatever. The population is way down.
and what I did see hanging at various camps were 5x5. 5x6. Nothing close to 400"
What makes anyone think that punching holes through both lungs won't kill an animal??
Doesn't matter what caliber it is.
I'm not a LR shooter, but I've seen 1000 yard 6.5 PRC kill an Elk in his bed.
I'm from the east coast, but I was in NM Elk hunting. A local from the Gila told me they shoot wolves in the guts. and they run for miles & miles deep into the woods never to be found again after they die a slow death.
It's really a sad story. This local told me the wolves snatch pets...
I have been seeing the TV commercials like crazy on the Pursuit channel. Never even knew it was a thing until then. It certainly is tempting, as I have deer on my lawn every evening, and can't get within 100 yards without spooking them off. upwind - downwind - sidewind, they know...
