    Unit 70, I will tell you is 'hunted out' down low during 1st rifle. Elk move up very high real fast... and if there's no snow up top, they are not coming down to feed.

    Where did you find out this information? I have been searching around all day, and can't come up with anything..... There are no hunt reports on forums. Can't find an outfitter in that area, nothing. and yes, it's a big trip from the east coast for a lousy unit. I don't mind...

    I drew an Oregon Elk tag: 275X - Interstate Unit No. 1. Oregon. I desperately need a guide. Please make some recommendations. Never received an email. Never received a tag... just decided to check draw results.. Weird.

    I just read about RW Trophy Ranch CWD outbreak. TX state went in, and culled the entire ranch, and buried them 100 miles away in a biohazard dump. I was considering hunting TX, but now I'll probably have to go to the other side of the state. Far far away.

    I tried about 10 boxes of various ammo. The swift groups Nicey. But I need more time with Swift. Browning LR pro groups, but 40% of the cartridges refuse to go into battery. I tried some match bullets, but that was a waste as I'm not hunting with match rounds. It's a .308 Tikka.

    I heard in a seminar by a qualified smith. 3 shot groups at the max. Otherwise, the barrel is too hot for accurate results.

    As I mentioned, my gun loves the TTSX. But I had to shoot the Elk 4 times through the lungs, broadside. 180 yards. Good thing he didn't run, or I'd still be looking for him. Now my bigger problem, I can't find lead ammo as accurate for this .308

    Yes, nothing loosened up. That was actually the first thing I checked. Then cleaned it 100x. Wasted few boxes of ammo.

    Bad Z6 or bad Tikka. Gun went haywire and is shooting 4" low. Then shooting 2" groups when it was shooting ragged holes. My money is on bad scope.... we'll see.

    The TTSX is amazingly accurate. But they don't expand well in Elk. At least not my Bull.
