I also have an El Range TA 10x and the Pure in 12x. They are obviously both amazing. I haven’t spent a lot of time behind them yet but my initial impressions -
The TA’s glass is noticeably better than my first gen El range. I used to wish I had the Swarovski on El glass on those old ranges...
However - that headlight lasts 2-4 times longer with the lithium battery. To me, not having to change the battery nearly as often outweighs the instant off by quite a bit. But you’re right, they don’t slowly die.

Yeah, probably not the best title. It’s click baity for sure.
If I was using the batteries for avalanche beacons, I’d definitely reconsider. For backpackers and hunters, it’s a no brainer.

I know most of you guys probably know this already, but I was surprised at how many of my friends still used alkaline batteries like regular duracell or energizer or home rechargeables in their hunting gear.
Lithium batteries have several benefits over rechareables or alkaline for hunters and...
I was able to borrow a set of the Zeiss Victory RF a few days ago, so I've been able to do some head to head comparisons of these 3 over the last couple of days. What follows is a very unscientific summary of whatmy 44 year old eyes could see. I also didn't have these on a tripod, which would...

No rangefinder has a built in wind meter. The Leica can pair with a Kestrel, which would be nice if you're a long range shooter or competitor. That's the best you're going to find.
As you mentioned, the Sig allows you to input the wind data manually into their app. You still have to know...
JGRaider - i've read all of the threads that mention rangefinding binos on here over the last while, and you seem super concerned about wind - to the point it appears to consume your every thought. We may need to start a gofundme to help you buy a kestrel so you can sleep easy at night.
JG - Im not sure how you want these things to do the wind correction. It’s a bino. There’s not a way for them to determine wind speed and direction.
The only option is to be able to Bluetooth to a separate kestrel device. Leica has that, Zeiss does not.
I have the BTX with the 95 and 65. I’ve tried it with the 65, but when I’m going to be hauling the size and bulk of the BTX, I use the 95 every time. Maybe I should revisit that, but I have used the 65 very rarely.
Another note - the doubler will darken your view. I wouldn’t suggest using the 65...
I've been working on getting one of the latest/greatest rangefinding binos for a few months and i thought it may be helpful for some if i share my opinions on the big 3 here. I don't have any experience with the Bushnell, Sig, Vortex, or any others. A lot of this will be splitting hairs, but...
