As others noted, the eldx is best bet of the group you mentioned since it has a tapered jacket to control expansion.
In my experience the tipped / bonded bullets like accubond and scirocco and nosler partition are the best comprimise for pretty good wounding and via limited...
Life is too short to not hunt with what you want. Get the 6.8W. It is an outstanding round. I have 2 and both are very accurate with factory ammo, at least the 165 ablr and 175 tgk loads. I have not tried others. Ammo and bullets have been available. New brass has not been available...
I am not sure WB cares if others pick it up. As noted they have a pretty robust offering and they apparently are able to sell all the ammo / rifles they are able to make. I know the ammo moves off the shelves around me when it shows up. Christensen arms, Fierce, and Seekins all chamber off...
I vote 6.8 Western! Superb performance for moderate recoil. Heavier bullets than 6.5 and less recoil, weight, and shorter action than 7prc. 300 wsm is great too by the way;)

Nice report. Son and myself have been shooting pigs earlier this summer with 165 ablr out of 6.8 Western and getting excellent performance. Not recovered any but busted through both shoulders of a couple decent sized boars so my impression is they hold up pretty well

As for energy that 10–20 ft-lbs is about the equivalent of a 177 cal pellet and insignificant compated to 1000+ from forward motion. As for the arrow comparison that is apples to oranges and a terribly misued analogy (even by people who know better). An arrow only going 1-150 fps kills fine...
I have studied this a bit. The rotational energy is very small to begin with and changing to faster twist increaes very little (think neighborhood of 10 ft-lbs) Ballisticians across the board dismiss twist as having any impact on terminal performance - assuming a bullet is stable to begin...
I would go browning xbolt. Just bought a SR. 6.8W and very accurate, nice features, and quality. The pro is nice with the carbon stock but the normal hells canyon stock is fine. Get in 6.5 creedmoor, 6.5 Prc, 270 win or 308 win. I personally prefer the classic 270, but all are great. The 6.5...
Recoil sensitive = .308. So many moose and
Elk have been taken out to 300+yards with factory 308 and 30-06 ammo that is probably running 2600 fps at best it is not funny.

Very likely between bottom metal and stock. Sometimes these get a shim so the bottom metal latches smoothly. I have heard of weatherby doing this mostly but probably a few others

Nosler bullets have gotten expensive. Shootersproshop has 150 partition
Seconds for aprox 30/box. Not needed for Mule Deer but proven many times over on Elk in the 270. Not high bc but decent and a proven design. Will expand reliably and penetrate well with no marketing hype or caveats:)

Give it a try and let us know how it goes. I gave seen 2 or 3 youtube videos including penetration tests. and looks like it works. I shoot them in my 6.8W and killed few hogs so far. Terminal results have been great with big wounds and total penetration
There is 160 partition data out...
