It's not just WY. People are losing their minds about the current situation in Idaho too. When we get closer to MT draw deadline there will be a multi-page thread about general tags there as well. It's really an overall squeeze on general elk tags in all states. I think most people can see...
A couple pics from earlier this season in SD.
Not a bird, but first blood trail find for Birch and first deer for Rett. Proud dad/handler, proud hunter, proud brother and proud dog all in one picture.
You only mention quail and grouse. If that’s all I was hunting I’d be leaning toward a breed that specializes in pointing. There are several versatile breeds that will also work for what you want but that’s like buying a leatherman when all you need is a knife. I’ve talked to several versatile...
I've had both Leer and ARE and would consider them pretty much equal. I'd go whichever I could get better pricing on. As others have mentioned, I highly recommend the vented windoors and sliding or folding back glass.
I have a F150 w/ the 5.5 bed and I'm 6'-0" tall. It's actually very...
Evan Graham's Smart Work is another good option. I bought the package with the DVDs and the book. If I had it to do over I'd have just bought the book.
Browning Citori Feather Lightning 20 ga and a LC Smith 16 ga are two of my favorites. I also have a soft spot for the A5 Sweet 16 and Magnum 20 if I'm in the mood for an autoloader. If I had to pick just one it would probably be the Citori 20.
We went with Clark for my first son. It's my grandmother's maiden name......but gets bonus points for allowing us to constantly pepper him with Christmas Vacation quotes.
Thanks! Bow is a Caribow Silver Fox pulling 57#. Arrow is Black Eagle Rampage 300 w/ 25 gr Iron Will insert and 25 gr collar with a 250 gr VPA 3 blade broadhead. Total arrow weight 610 gr.
I took this pic this morning while training to show how I carry mine. It's an Alpha 100 but works the same for the 200. I clip the carabiner to the webbing on the front of my Final Rise shoulder strap and tuck the antenna into the molle webbing. If I want more protection I leave it clipped on...
I go the suitcase route. I built this case out of a MTM double arrow case. I can fit my bow, accessories, and a dozen arrows. I also have different foam cut for my recurves. It then goes in the bottom of a wheeled duffle bag and is surrounded with my clothes. Has worked great for me so...
I have the Alpha 100 and really like it for hunting, not so much for everyday training. While hunting I'm typically giving very few corrections and primarily use the map and compas (gps) features. I find the touch screen adjustments for dog corrections too cumbersome for daily training. It...
September 17th at 9,600 ft. He had nice hair but not like some of the Oct & Nov goats posted. If I was a rifle hunter I'd have started my hunt 2-3 weeks later. Good luck on your hunt.
I'll be archery hunting in a general unit in NW Wyoming this September. I'll be taking a horse and 2 mules and will be packing in, setting up a spike camp and day hunting from camp. This will be my first time taking stock into an area with grizzlies so what precautions do you take or what, if...
